Ex-Military jobseeker mistakes

Normally at this time of the week I would send out a ‘vacancy alert’ but I thought I would take the opportunity to point out some ex-military jobseeker mistakes I have already come across this week. Mistakes that are possibly preventing your applications from moving forward!!!

So if you are looking for work it might be wise to take a look at the following:

  • Incorrect Contact Details. Believe it or not, I come across this too often, CV’s containing incorrect or old telephone contact details. Make sure you have not made a typo on your CV.
  • No Address on your CV. Employers and recruitment agencies want to know where you live so they can see that your location is within a realistic commute to their vacancy. Failure to add your address could mean your CV is overlooked (no matter how good you are) ending up in ‘File 13’. If you are willing to relocate state this within your CV opening profile.
  • Your Voicemail is not Activated.  Make sure your voicemail is activated on your mobile after all the person that just tried to call you may have been your next potential employer.
