Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer

Are you an ex-military electrical engineer looking for a role that takes your technical skills worldwide?

Our client, a leading global Risk Engineering company, is offering a truly unique opportunity that combines high-level technical work, international travel, and comprehensive training in a specialist field.

You’ll join a respected organisation that values your military background — your discipline, problem-solving mindset, and commitment to excellence. In fact, your line manager is also ex-military, so they understand exactly what you bring to the table.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Exceptionally attractive salary and benefits package (details discussed during interview).
  • Extensive global travel — with the opportunity to take your partner on selected overseas trips.
  • Full specialist training provided, giving you new, in-demand skills in a niche sector.
  • Variety guaranteed — no two days are ever the same.
  • Work with a global leader that offers long-term stability and development.
  • Military-friendly employer that recognises and rewards your background.

The Role

Working from home, you’ll travel across the UK and internationally to conduct electrical and mechanical condition monitoring surveys. Using infrared cameras and advanced diagnostic tools, you’ll assess systems, identify issues, and prepare professional reports that help clients manage technical and operational risks.

What I’m Looking For

  • HNC (or above) in Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong electrical knowledge, able to read and interpret schematics and diagrams.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable working independently.
  • Confident communicator, capable of engaging with everyone from site technicians to senior managers.
  • IT literate and flexible regarding travel and overnight stays.

What’s in It for You

  • Extremely competitive salary
  • Company car, mobile phone, and laptop
  • 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays
  • 10% employer pension contribution
  • Private medical and dental cover
  • Discretionary company bonus
  • Full specialist training and ongoing support

Locations of interest are: Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Darlington, Leeds, York, Hull, Sheffield, Liverpool, Manchester, Nottingham, Lincoln, Birmingham, Derby, Peterborough, Northampton, Reading, Swindon, Andover or close surrounding areas.

If you’re a military-trained electrical engineer ready for something different — a role that combines technical challenge, international adventure, and genuine career growth, I would love to hear from you.

Apply today and take your engineering career global.
