If you are a company owner, HR Manager or anyone involved in the recruitment process you will already appreciate that candidate salary expectations have increased. This is a result of a number of factors including the cost of living and the shortage of available talent.

There are a few methods of completing your own research on salaries and these include the following:
- Using an online salary calculator where you can filter on job roles and locations. A popular one is the ‘Reed online average salary calculator’ – check it out here.
- Pretending to be a job seeker and searching for a similar job to yours online using job boards such as Indeed. This can prove a little bit tricky as many vacancy advertisements will not have a salary displayed and those which do can vary dramatically depending on location.
