Who are Demob Job?

Demob Job was established in 2005 by our Managing Director Adrian Cheesman after he completed a successful full career in The Royal Corps of Signals.

His vision was to build an ethical and professional recruitment business which would champion the employability of personnel who have previously served in our Armed Forces; Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force.

Since those early days we have continued to grow and now have a focused team of consultants delivering permanent recruitment services to clients all over the UK and overseas.

Our future looks bright as we continue to prosper through planned growth.

Andrew (ex Aviation Engineer in the Royal Air Force)

“I contacted Demob Job after seeing a job advert on LinkedIn. Joanne Foster was extremely responsive and arranged a telephone call to discuss the job and check my suitability for the role, an important step in preventing both me and the employer from wasting time. Joanne spent time compiling an accurate and suitable application with me and presented it to the employer on my behalf. Interviews were arranged, taking into consideration my current employment, and regular updates were provided.  This all resulted in a job offer.  A huge thanks to Joanne at Demob job, you’re a huge asset to the service leaver community.”  Andrew is now employed as a  Senior Aviation Engineer in Hertfordshire.

Sean (ex Royal Navy – Aircraft Engineering Technician)

I recently left the Royal Navy after 5 years’ service and I was struggling to find a job that suited my skillset.  Joanne contacted me about a vacancy that she thought would match up with my previous military role.  She was with me every step of the way always willing to advise me and she was a great liaison between the company and myself.  With Joanne's help, I secured a job in an industry that will only expand in the future.  I’d like to thank Joanne and the Demob Job team for helping me on my journey to a new career. Now a Field Service Engineer covering the North East

From REME Vehicle Mechanic to Engineer Technician: Jack’s Civilian Career Breakthrough

“After being on the lookout for jobs for a while, I didn’t think I was getting anywhere until I applied through Demob Job. Once I had applied, I didn’t have to wait long before I was contacted by Joanne Foster, who oversaw the whole process and kept me in the loop throughout. I was fortunate enough to get the job, and even after being offered the role, Joanne stayed in contact to make sure the process of starting was as easy as it could have been.” Jack served in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) as a Vehicle Mechanic and is now employed as an Engineer Technician within the Energy sector.

Arran (ex REME Electronics Technician)

I was contacted by Emma at Demob Job a couple of months prior to leaving the military. Within 24 hours from first talking, Emma had already arranged two interviews with potential employers within walking distance of my house. One of these interviews proved successful and I was subsequently offered the job in which I am now very happy. Emma went the extra mile to ensure my transition into civilian life was easy and hassle-free, it felt like a very personal service and she has followed up with me a couple of times now, wishing me well and ensuring everything is going ok. All in all, Demob Job and Emma will do what it takes to ensure you find the right job. Field Service Engineer, Lancashire

Michael is a former Royal Air Force Aircraft Weapons Engineer, now a Workshop Engineer in Blackpool.

"One Friday afternoon, the 'job of the week' landed in my inbox. I called Joanne immediately to discuss the role. After a good conversation, she was confident to introduce my application to the company. Joanne then helped with my CV which needed to be civilianised to make it easier to read. The application process was very smooth and Joanne was there at each step to help, advise and encourage. There is a lot said about transferable skills and I can tell you many of the skills I had taken for granted are very much transferable into civilian roles. The online interview tips and tricks were great and I followed every bit of advice given in it. I was offered a second interview and I’m delighted to say I have been offered the position. Demob Job takes the time to listen to potential candidates, unlike so many others who just throw candidates against a wall and see what sticks! Thanks to the whole team and especially Joanne Foster" – Michael is a former Royal Air Force Aircraft Weapons Engineer, now a Workshop Engineer in Blackpool.

Mark (ex-Royal Signals Radio Technician)

I saw a position advertised on the Demob Job website that caught my interest and seemed to be exactly what I was looking for.  I zapped a copy of my C.V with a  covering letter over to Joanne at and she called me back within an hour.  Joanne said that she thought my skills set matched most of those required by the prospective employer. Anyway, to cut a short story short, Joanne managed to get me an interview within a couple of days and the rest is history.   My experience with Demob Job has been extremely positive all the way through; very polite, very courteous and very discreet. Unlike other agencies where you get passed around from one person to another, the whole process was managed by one person.  Joanne kept in constant contact to make sure that things were on track.  I would thoroughly recommend Demob Job recruitment agency to all ex-military. They do a great job! Thanks, Joanne, I start my new job on Monday. Electronics Assembly & Test Engineer, Carlisle, Cumbria
