Candidate Testimonials
Karl (ex Royal Navy Marine Engineer Submariner)
‘After 23 years in the armed forces you learn to do a lot of things, unfortunately, none of them is how to be a civvy and look for a job. I began looking for work in the field of engineering and a friend of mine recommended Demob Job, I’m glad that I did. Joanne was very quick to respond to my internet inquiry and keen to give as much information as possible on the job in hand. When accepted for an interview Joanne made sure I was as prepared as possible with notes from other applicants and any information she thought was useful. When she was away, she made sure another member of the team was briefed on my situation so they would be able to help. Throughout the whole process, you could really tell Joanne was working hard on your behalf. I secured employment and began my new career two weeks ago and I’m very grateful to Joanne and the Demob team for their efforts.’ Karl is now employed in the heavy industrial engineering sector.
Clint (ex Royal Air Force Chef)
After recently completing my diploma in plumbing and heating, I had spent many months trying to find the right job opportunity. I had spent 20 years in catering within the RAF and offshore oil and gas, and have been seeking a career change, when Adrian from Demob Job contacted me about an opportunity with a respectable company which included great training and career prospects. Adrian was excellent in explaining the job role to me, identifying all my transferable skills that would make me a good fit for the role, and after putting me forward, managed to secure an interview for me. I am sure that had I applied direct to the company I would not have heard back. After completing the interview, and a small skills test, I managed to secure the role and am awaiting to start the training course. Cannot recommend Adrian and Demob Job enough. Highly professional in every stage of the process.
Mitchel (ex Royal Navy Aeronautical Engineering Technician)
Jack and I connected on linked in a little over a month ago and ever since he has been a brilliant asset to finding my next career. He found numerous job roles that fitted my criteria, coached me through the roles and interview techniques, and ultimately assisted in me getting my new position. Jack kept me well updated through the whole process and I really felt he had my best interests. I could not recommend Jack enough to anyone who is leaving the forces and looking to transition into civilian life. Mitchel is now employed as a Field Service Engineer in Somerset.
Luke (ex-Royal Signals Communications Systems Engineer)
Joanne approached me upon finding my CV online, she was very friendly and extremely enthusiastic about the role she matched to me. Joanne had a very good understanding of my skills interpenetrated from my CV and understood my background well. Throughout the whole process Joanne kept me informed of any news very promptly and I believe she liaised with the company to the highest standard. I would recommend Joanne and DEMOB JOB to any of my colleagues that may leave the forces in the future. Communications Systems Engineering Team Leader, Manchester
Noel (ex REME Avionic Technician)
Just before I was made redundant I received a phone call from Emma at Demob Job having previously registered on their web site. She asked if I would be interested in applying for a Field Service Manager position. I was sceptical at first but she convinced me to make an application. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful at the interview but gained some valuable feedback which suggested that I may be more suited to a hands-on role as a Field Service Technician. This led to a further interview and, I am glad to say, a job offer. If I had not let Emma convince me to attend the initial interview I would probably never have even tried for the second position. I would have no hesitation to recommend both Emma and Demob Job to my ex-military colleagues. Field Support Technician, Dorset
REME Vehicle Mechanic secures new career as an Engineer Surveyor
"Kelly, you have been a great help from the beginning securing me an interview on such short notice and keeping me up to date with everything right to the very end. You were prepared to listen and understand what I was looking for along with offering good advice which no doubt played a part in me securing this position. Keep doing what you are doing!" – Former Royal Electrical and Mechanical (REME) Vehicle Mechanic, now an Engineer Surveyor.
Aaron (ex British Army Electronics Technician)
Joanne was there for me during the most difficult and concerning time of my career, the period in which I was leaving the military after 10 years not having any civilian contacts or experience. She made me feel calm and confident in securing a new career path even during the pandemic. I would highly recommend any ex-military or jobseeker to have Joanne caring for their needs. She was professional and kind during the whole process and considered all my needs throughout. Amazing support. Aaron is now an Engineering Technician in Lancashire.
