Andy (Royal Air Force – Avionics Engineer)
I applied for a position that I found on the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) website which sounded like it would suit me. A short time later I was contacted by Joanne from Demob Job with some more details about the role. I said that I was interested in the position and that I would like to be put forward for it. Having read through my CV, Joanne suggested a few tweaks to better suit the position which I decided would be a good idea. After only a few days I had an interview lined up and was offered the position starting a month later. Before my first day I was contacted weekly by Joanne to ensure everything was going well and if I needed any advice with my transition from military to civilian life. Overall, the service was first class and thanks to Joanne and the Demob Job team I have now started my first job as a ‘civvy’.
Paul (Ex Royal Navy Marine Engineer)
“Leaving the Armed Forces is a huge step for any service person looking to transition into civilian life, personally for me it was extra daunting as I joined the Royal Navy straight from school and stayed to complete a 24-year career. Job hunting proved difficult with many employers not taking the time to reply to my applications. I then applied for a position I found on the CTP website, immediately Joanne Foster was in touch to explain the role and requirements in more depth, within minutes I had experienced the personal and professional service Demob Job offer. Joanne helped me every step of the way offering advice, feedback, and an understanding I do not think would be found at any other recruitment company. I would urge anyone leaving the Armed Forces to use the experience and professionalism Demob Job have at their disposal. Thanks to Joanne I have secured a job with a prestigious North East company.” Paul is now employed as a Senior Marine Engineering Manager in Tyne and Wear.
Justin (ex-Royal Air Force Mechanical Aircraft Technician)
I left the RAF and began the laborious and slightly soul destroying task of searching for a job appropriate to my skill set. I was in contact with an old colleague who linked me to the advertisement posted on Demob Job by Joanne. I carefully read the criteria requested and contacted Joanne who promptly arranged a chat with me via telephone the next day. Joanne advised me of what the job entailed and after a brief informal Q&A, proposed to put me forward for the role of Field Service Engineer at a Marine company. I was thrilled to hear back that the company were interested in speaking to me via web interview initially and I was coached on some salient points to assist me with techniques and common questions. That interview was completed and Joanne kept in touch between myself and the company for feedback. I was then contacted back by Kim as Joanne had a holiday but I was made aware of this well in advance and Kim became my contact. I was delighted to hear that I was invited to the company HQ on Friday for a face to face interview after being shortlisted. I was delighted to be contacted by Kim to give me the good news that I had been offered the job. Joanne and Kim have been amazing throughout and I cannot thank them enough. I would describe Joanne and Kim as dynamic, highly professional, very supportive and confidence inspiring. I would recommend Demob Job to any service leaver be it imminent or out of the services for some time. Field Service Engineer, Durham
