Who are Demob Job?

Demob Job was established in 2005 by our Managing Director Adrian Cheesman after he completed a successful full career in The Royal Corps of Signals.

His vision was to build an ethical and professional recruitment business which would champion the employability of personnel who have previously served in our Armed Forces; Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force.

Since those early days we have continued to grow and now have a focused team of consultants delivering permanent recruitment services to clients all over the UK and overseas.

Our future looks bright as we continue to prosper through planned growth.

Candidate Testimonials

Gemma (ex Royal Armoured Corps and Royal Corps of Signals)

Leaving the British Army during a pandemic was something I never expected to happen. I was quite concerned with the employment opportunities, however I managed to find a job I was interested in and applied to Joanne at Demob Job.  Joanne rang me the very next day to set up an interview.  The communication was second to none through the whole process, and Joanne was brilliant. Joanne gave me some brilliant advice to prep for my interview and even followed up on the day.  I am proud to say the interview was successful and I was offered the job which would start only two weeks later. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Joanne for making my transition into civilian life seamless.  Gemma is now employed as a Telecommunications Apprentice Trainer in Wiltshire.

REME Aircraft Technician secures new career as a Field Service Engineer: A Personalised Journey with Demob Job

"Dealing with Joanne Foster was a very pleasant and personal experience from start to finish.  She kept in touch with me throughout the process explaining each step as I progressed.  She was always happy to help out in any way whenever an issue would arise on my behalf. Thank you Joanne!"   – Former REME Aircraft Technician, now a Field Service Engineer in West Yorkshire.

Noel (ex REME Avionic Technician)

Just before I was made redundant I received a phone call from Emma at Demob Job having previously registered on their web site. She asked if I would be interested in applying for a Field Service Manager position. I was sceptical at first but she convinced me to make an application. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful at the interview but gained some valuable feedback which suggested that I may be more suited to a hands-on role as a Field Service Technician.  This led to a further interview and, I am glad to say, a job offer. If I had not let Emma convince me to attend the initial interview I would probably never have even tried for the second position. I would have no hesitation to recommend both Emma and Demob Job to my ex-military colleagues. Field Support Technician, Dorset

Anthony (Royal Air Force Engineering Manager)

“Having uploaded my CV to various sites (LinkedIn, CV-Library etc) I started to receive calls from numerous recruitment agents. I quickly discovered many of these agents were merely utilising algorithms to match keywords with job specs. I found myself asking some if they’d actually read my CV as the roles being suggested where miles away from my skill set!   Joanne at Demob job couldn’t have been further away from this in her approach. Warm and friendly from the outset with a genuine interest in my experience and intended career direction. By the end of the first call, it was evident time had been invested to match me with the role on offer. Her continued support throughout the whole interview process was most welcome and soon alleviated any unease felt towards my first interview in over 30 years. I’m pleased to say that despite my initial nerves the outcome was successful. Contact details for Demob Job should be included in all career transition workshops, they provide a service that can only be described as superb.” Anthony is now employed as an Engineering Auditor.

Rob (ex Royal Navy Weapons Engineer)

Excellent recruitment company, love to focus on ex military and as we all know, leaving the Armed Forces is a big step, always stay in contact with you and keep you updated with your process. This was the very first job I applied for, and I was successful, and in the field I wanted, my consultant was Emma Saxton. 10 out of 10 for the effort she put in, no complaints. Rob is now employed as a Field Service Engineer in the Gloucestershire area.

Ben (ex-Royal Air Force – Mechanical Ground Engineer)

I registered with Demob Job in July and within 36 hours Joanne contacted me regarding an exciting opportunity.  Joanne spoke with me about the role and took some further information regarding my professional qualifications and skills. Within one week of being introduced, I had an interview arranged which resulted in me being offered the position.  I am delighted with Joanne as she was she sticks to her word, is courteous and the whole experience has been ideal.
