I left the RAF and began the laborious and slightly soul destroying task of searching for a job appropriate to my skill set. I was in contact with an old colleague who linked me to the advertisement posted on Demob Job by Joanne. I carefully read the criteria requested and contacted Joanne who promptly arranged a chat with me via telephone the next day.  Joanne advised me of what the job entailed and after a brief informal Q&A, proposed to put me forward for the role of Field Service Engineer at a Marine company. I was thrilled to hear back that the company were interested in speaking to me via web interview initially and I was coached on some salient points to assist me with techniques and common questions. That interview was completed and Joanne kept in touch between myself and the company for feedback. I was then contacted back by Kim as Joanne had a holiday but I was made aware of this well in advance and Kim became my contact. I was delighted to hear that I was invited to the company HQ on Friday for a face to face interview after being shortlisted. I was delighted to be contacted by Kim to give me the good news that I had been offered the job. Just before I was made redundant I received a phone call from Emma at Demob Job having previously registered on their web site. She asked if I would be interested in applying for a Field Service Manager position. I was sceptical at first but she convinced me to make an application. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful at the interview but gained some valuable feedback which suggested that I may be more suited to a hands-on role as a Field Service Technician.  This led to a further interview and, I am glad to say, a job offer. If I had not let Emma convince me to attend the initial interview I would probably never have even tried for the second position. After recently completing my diploma in plumbing and heating, I had spent many months trying to find the right job opportunity. I had spent 20 years in catering within the RAF and offshore oil and gas, and have been seeking a career change, when Adrian from Demob Job contacted me about an opportunity with a respectable company which included great training and career prospects.  Adrian was excellent in explaining the job role to me, identifying all my transferable skills that would make me a good fit for the role, and after putting me forward, managed to secure an interview for me.  I am sure that had I applied direct to the company I would not have heard back.  After completing the interview, and a small skills test, I managed to secure the role and am awaiting to start the training course.  Cannot recommend Adrian and Demob Job enough. I just want to say a massive thank you to Joanne and the Demob Job team. Having left the Armed Forces after 23-years’ service and not knowing what the process of getting/finding a new job was, Joanne made the process easy and clear from the beginning.
