Who are Demob Job?

Demob Job was established in 2005 by our Managing Director Adrian Cheesman after he completed a successful full career in The Royal Corps of Signals.

His vision was to build an ethical and professional recruitment business which would champion the employability of personnel who have previously served in our Armed Forces; Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force.

Since those early days we have continued to grow and now have a focused team of consultants delivering permanent recruitment services to clients all over the UK and overseas.

Our future looks bright as we continue to prosper through planned growth.

Candidate Testimonials

Roger (ex Royal Navy Weapons Engineer)

After being made redundant from my previous employer due to being furloughed for over 3 months, I was contacted by Joanne Foster at Demob Job, and was quickly offered the chance of an interview.  Within 48 hours of being contacted, I attended an interview and I was offered employment.  I was really impressed with the help and information that was available to me.  Joanne even followed up after my employment was finalised and made sure I was ready to start my new job the following week.  I would highly recommend Demob Job to anyone leaving their military career.  Roger is now employed as a Service Repair Technician in Warwickshire.

Phillip (ex Royal Air Force Electronics Engineer)

I have nothing but high praise for Demob Job and in particular, Joanne Foster, who is both professional, helpful, and friendly.  She explained the process, the role, and assured me I had the skills required, which is not easy when you are going through the redundancy process.  I felt I was in safe hands and never had any issues or doubts. Joanne kept in touch regularly to see how I was doing, which I considered a nice touch.  I would recommend Demob Job as a recruitment agency to anyone and everyone.  Phillip is now an IT Support Engineer in Tyne and Wear)

Matt (ex-Royal Navy Assistant Marine Engineering Officer)

I was contacted by Emma having just left the Royal Navy about helping to find me work. After discussing my background and experience she spoke to me in detail about a role which she thought was a strong fit.  I consequently applied and was invited for an interview. Within hours of attending the interview Emma contacted me and told me I had been successful. Throughout the whole process she kept me informed of my progress and gave me advice on how to prepare for the interview. Most importantly I felt like she treated me as a person and not just another case. Highly professional and polite, I couldn’t recommend them enough to any Ex-Forces personnel. Thank you Emma and thank you Demob Job! Project Engineer, Tyne and Wear

Harun (ex Royal Signals – Communications Systems Engineer)

I applied for a technical role in Northern Ireland which closely matched my profile and I received a prompt call from Joanne at Demob Job to discuss my current situation and to organise an interview with a potential employer.  She was so understanding of the daunting prospect of leaving the military and from the get-go, she was reassuring me that my skills and experience are attractive in the commercial sector.  Joanne kept me in the loop and made sure I was never left wondering where I was in the application process.  I don’t think I could have found such a good role that pays well and where I am able to utilise my skills from the military without her help.  I fully recommend Joanne Foster and Demob Job to anyone wanting to resettle from their military in the future.  Now employed as a Field Support Technician in Northern Ireland

From Royal Navy Petty Officer to Project Engineer: A Smooth Transition into Civilian Employment

“My experience with Demob Job started with Adrian, the company's MD, contacting me on LinkedIn. After sending my CV I was quickly contacted by Joanne with a suggested role I could be well suited for. Joanne explained the role and informed me of the company and what they do. After expressing my interest, I was invited for an interview the following week and offered the job the week after. Overall, it was a smooth and rapid process. I received regular contact from Joanne by email to complete all the relevant paperwork and documentation, and also by phone with sound advice, words of wisdom, encouragement and reassurance. Joanne made the transition from military to civilian employment easy with no fuss or stress. I will be recommending Demob Job to my former military friends and colleagues.”  Dean was a Petty Officer Marine Engineering Technician in the Royal Navy and is now employed as a Project Engineer.

Mark (ex REME Avionics Technician)

I phoned Demob Job to enquire about a job I had seen advertised which closely matched my skill set. I was put in touch with Joanne at Demob Job who explained the vacancy in detail and discussed my background and expectations.  This lead to me being introduced to the company which resulted in an interview being arranged very quickly. The interview was a three-step process, one interview by phone, and two further interviews face to face. Joanne kept in constant touch with myself and the employer making sure that I knew what to expect and that I was fully prepared for each interview. Without Joanne`s help, support, and encouragement, it would have been extremely unlikely that I would have got the job.  Even after the job offer Demob Job still contacted me to ensure that I was completely happy.  I found everybody who I dealt with at Demob Job, especially Joanne, extremely helpful and polite. Field Service Engineer, North West
