Who are Demob Job?

Demob Job was established in 2005 by our Managing Director Adrian Cheesman after he completed a successful full career in The Royal Corps of Signals.

His vision was to build an ethical and professional recruitment business which would champion the employability of personnel who have previously served in our Armed Forces; Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force.

Since those early days we have continued to grow and now have a focused team of consultants delivering permanent recruitment services to clients all over the UK and overseas.

Our future looks bright as we continue to prosper through planned growth.

Candidate Testimonials

Clint (ex Royal Air Force Chef)

After recently completing my diploma in plumbing and heating, I had spent many months trying to find the right job opportunity. I had spent 20 years in catering within the RAF and offshore oil and gas, and have been seeking a career change, when Adrian from Demob Job contacted me about an opportunity with a respectable company which included great training and career prospects.  Adrian was excellent in explaining the job role to me, identifying all my transferable skills that would make me a good fit for the role, and after putting me forward, managed to secure an interview for me.  I am sure that had I applied direct to the company I would not have heard back.  After completing the interview, and a small skills test, I managed to secure the role and am awaiting to start the training course.  Cannot recommend Adrian and Demob Job enough. Highly professional in every stage of the process.

From Royal Signals to Apprenticeship Coordinator: A Successful Civilian Career Transition

“The entire team at Demob Job have been fantastic. From initial filtering and interview preparation with Adrian, and Joanne providing support during the negotiation phase, they are forthcoming and very communicative throughout the entire process. Their guidance and support have ensured a successful outcome in the job-hunting process. Thank you.” Martin previously served in the Royal Signals and is now employed as an Apprenticeship Coordinator.

Matthew (ex REME Avionics Technician)

I applied for a Field Service Technician Role through Demob and was promptly contacted by Joanne who after ascertaining my suitability for the role arranged for me to attend an interview. I was successful and offered the job the same day which I accepted. Throughout the entire process, Joanne was always on hand to help me prepare for the interview, keeping me informed and ensuring everything ran smoothly up to my first day of work. Overall all I could not recommend Demobjob enough. Field Service Technician, Belfast

Raymond (ex-Royal Navy Aircraft Technician)

I found Joanne and Demob Job very helpful and friendly.  It felt as if Joanne was actively helping me secure a job whereas with some agencies I feel as if they are not too bothered either way.  Demob Job seem like a very organised agency and Joanne kept me informed right the way throughout the process. Thanks once again and I appreciate all your help! Mechanical Shift Maintenance Engineer, Lancashire

Karl (ex Royal Navy Marine Engineer Submariner)

‘After 23 years in the armed forces you learn to do a lot of things, unfortunately, none of them is how to be a civvy and look for a job. I began looking for work in the field of engineering and a friend of mine recommended Demob Job, I’m glad that I did. Joanne was very quick to respond to my internet inquiry and keen to give as much information as possible on the job in hand.  When accepted for an interview Joanne made sure I was as prepared as possible with notes from other applicants and any information she thought was useful.  When she was away, she made sure another member of the team was briefed on my situation so they would be able to help.  Throughout the whole process, you could really tell Joanne was working hard on your behalf.  I secured employment and began my new career two weeks ago and I’m very grateful to Joanne and the Demob team for their efforts.’  Karl is now employed in the heavy industrial engineering sector.

Joe (ex-Royal Navy Marine Engineer)

Having seen a job advertised on DemobJob.co.uk, I registered my CV online and applied. Joanne contacted me straight away to confirm my application, she then introduced me to the company and successfully got me a telephone interview, which went really well.  I then had a face to face interview with the company and was subsequently offered the job.  Joanne and her team did a remarkable job which I cannot thank them enough they are genuinely there to help and without their guidance and knowledge I wouldn't have been so successful. Field Service Engineer, Cleveland

From Royal Navy to CHP Field Engineer: How Demob Job Helped Me Find the Right Fit

“After leaving the Navy I went home to Cornwall to seek employment which ended up being sparse in the engineering world. After a calculated move to Lancashire I was messaged by Joanne to discuss one of my applications for an engineering technician role with an energy company. Joanne kept contact with me throughout the whole four weeks to obtain my details and provide valuable information, motivation and assurance. I am happy to say that after a phone call interview and a formal on-site interview I was offered the position. Joanne has worked tirelessly providing me with the job details, company websites and ensuring I was comfortable with each step of the process.” Chris served in the Royal Navy as a Marine Engineer and is now a CHP Field Engineer in the North West.
