Who are Demob Job?

Demob Job was established in 2005 by our Managing Director Adrian Cheesman after he completed a successful full career in The Royal Corps of Signals.

His vision was to build an ethical and professional recruitment business which would champion the employability of personnel who have previously served in our Armed Forces; Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force.

Since those early days we have continued to grow and now have a focused team of consultants delivering permanent recruitment services to clients all over the UK and overseas.

Our future looks bright as we continue to prosper through planned growth.

Candidate Testimonials

Noel (ex REME Avionic Technician)

Just before I was made redundant I received a phone call from Emma at Demob Job having previously registered on their web site. She asked if I would be interested in applying for a Field Service Manager position. I was sceptical at first but she convinced me to make an application. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful at the interview but gained some valuable feedback which suggested that I may be more suited to a hands-on role as a Field Service Technician.  This led to a further interview and, I am glad to say, a job offer. If I had not let Emma convince me to attend the initial interview I would probably never have even tried for the second position. I would have no hesitation to recommend both Emma and Demob Job to my ex-military colleagues. Field Support Technician, Dorset

Royal Navy Marine Engineer secures new career as an Offshore Technician

“I recently left the Armed Forces and was looking for a new challenge.  After looking for a new career by myself I wasn't having much luck until I was contacted by Joanne Foster at Demob Job. She offered excellent service and helped me get a job offer that was beyond my expectations. The Demob Job was very friendly and helpful, offered advice and assistance with preparing for interviews, and made searching for a job as straightforward and stress-free as possible. I would highly recommend the services of Demob Job, and have already recommended them to others who are leaving their military careers.”  – Former Royal Navy Marine Engineer, now an Offshore Technician.

Joanne at Demob Job has been extremely helpful in the transition from military to civilian life. Always keeping me informed of what is going on and what the next steps will be. Keeping in touch regularly and going out of her way to reassure you that the job you want is ready and waiting!  Jay is now a Mechanical Engineer in Plymouth, Devon.

Laurence (served in the Royal Navy as a Marine Engineer)

"After leaving the Royal Navy I was promptly contacted by Joanne Foster at Demob Job; Joanne almost immediately found several roles that matched my skill set as well as what I was looking for.  On my way back from one interview she put me forward for the job I have now gladly accepted. Perfect for both location and opportunity to allow me to utilise my skills.  Constantly trying to find the best job for me from the start as well as keeping me updated at every step, I would highly recommend Demob Job to any service leaver!”.  Laurence is now employed as an Engineering Technician in Manchester.

Nathan (ex-Royal Navy Marine Engineer)

“After having served 8 years in the Royal Navy as a Marine Engineer and on starting my transition to Civvy Street I was contacted by Demob Job to help me find my new career. Kelly Chandler was my point of contact throughout, and she was brilliant from start to finish. She noted all my previous skills and experience and used them to match me against jobs that were in my preferred field. She filtered jobs for me that were within my preferred commutable area, working routines, and the salary range I was looking for. I was paired with a job that suited everything that I was looking for. Kelly kept me well-informed throughout the selection and interview process. She even phoned me the Friday before I was due to start work to wish me good luck. I would not hesitate to recommend Demob Job to any member of the Armed Forces looking to take their next career step”.  Nathan is now employed as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer in Manchester.

Sam (Served in the Royal Air Force as a mechanically biased Aircraft Engineer)

"From start to finish Joanne and the Demob Job team have been nothing but excellent in all aspects of supporting me into transitioning into a new role. From helping with interview prep, CV support, and very fast, informative communication. With Joanne and Demob Job, you can feel that they honestly care about you and your transition into your new role, and it really comes across in the help and support you receive. I could not personally recommend Joanne and Demob Job recruitment agency more highly" Sam is now a Project Manager in Lancashire.

Michael is a former Royal Air Force Aircraft Weapons Engineer, now a Workshop Engineer in Blackpool.

"One Friday afternoon, the 'job of the week' landed in my inbox. I called Joanne immediately to discuss the role. After a good conversation, she was confident to introduce my application to the company. Joanne then helped with my CV which needed to be civilianised to make it easier to read. The application process was very smooth and Joanne was there at each step to help, advise and encourage. There is a lot said about transferable skills and I can tell you many of the skills I had taken for granted are very much transferable into civilian roles. The online interview tips and tricks were great and I followed every bit of advice given in it. I was offered a second interview and I’m delighted to say I have been offered the position. Demob Job takes the time to listen to potential candidates, unlike so many others who just throw candidates against a wall and see what sticks! Thanks to the whole team and especially Joanne Foster" – Michael is a former Royal Air Force Aircraft Weapons Engineer, now a Workshop Engineer in Blackpool.
