Who are Demob Job?

Demob Job was established in 2005 by our Managing Director Adrian Cheesman after he completed a successful full career in The Royal Corps of Signals.

His vision was to build an ethical and professional recruitment business which would champion the employability of personnel who have previously served in our Armed Forces; Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force.

Since those early days we have continued to grow and now have a focused team of consultants delivering permanent recruitment services to clients all over the UK and overseas.

Our future looks bright as we continue to prosper through planned growth.

Candidate Testimonials

Paul (Ex Royal Navy Marine Engineer)

“Leaving the Armed Forces is a huge step for any service person looking to transition into civilian life, personally for me it was extra daunting as I joined the Royal Navy straight from school and stayed to complete a 24-year career. Job hunting proved difficult with many employers not taking the time to reply to my applications. I then applied for a position I found on the CTP website, immediately Joanne Foster was in touch to explain the role and requirements in more depth, within minutes I had experienced the personal and professional service Demob Job offer. Joanne helped me every step of the way offering advice, feedback, and an understanding I do not think would be found at any other recruitment company. I would urge anyone leaving the Armed Forces to use the experience and professionalism Demob Job have at their disposal. Thanks to Joanne I have secured a job with a prestigious North East company.”  Paul is now employed as a Senior Marine Engineering Manager in Tyne and Wear.

Another Avionics Engineer placed into commercial employment by Demob Job

"Demob Job has been outstanding in helping me secure my new position. Special thanks to Kelly, whose world-class communication ensured I was updated every step of the way. I'm incredibly grateful for all the support I've received from Demob Job and wish the team all the best for the future." – Rob, a former Royal Air Force Avionics Engineer, now working as a Maintenance Engineer.

Mike (ex Royal Air Force electrically biased Avionics Engineer)

Joanne at Demob Job is unlike any other recruiter I have been in contact with as I am sure all the recruiters with Demob Job are.  Joanne was friendly, professional, and genuinely interested in putting the correct person in the correct role. Many recruiters merely contact you to fill their numbers, filling you with false hope and never returning the many phone calls you make to them. From the initial phone call I received from Joanne to the last I felt Demob and Joanne wanted to get the best possible outcome for me and not only for them or the company.   I will be recommending Demob job and Joanne to all service leavers I know as I wish someone had recommended them to me months ago.  Thank you Joanne and Demob Job.  Mike is now a Field Electrical Engineer in Tyne & Wear.

Andy (Royal Air Force – Avionics Engineer)

I applied for a position that I found on the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) website which sounded like it would suit me. A short time later I was contacted by Joanne from Demob Job with some more details about the role. I said that I was interested in the position and that I would like to be put forward for it. Having read through my CV, Joanne suggested a few tweaks to better suit the position which I decided would be a good idea. After only a few days I had an interview lined up and was offered the position starting a month later. Before my first day I was contacted weekly by Joanne to ensure everything was going well and if I needed any advice with my transition from military to civilian life. Overall, the service was first class and thanks to Joanne and the Demob Job team I have now started my first job as a ‘civvy’.

Kieran (ex Royal Navy Aircraft Engineering Technician)

Demob Job were a great help during my final months in the Royal Navy, helping me to make the transition into civilian employment seamless. Emma Saxton went above and beyond helping me get prepared and ready for interviews, giving me advise and tips specific to the company which I was interested in joining. Even after securing employment Emma was very helpful by making sure everything was running smoothly right up to the day I started and beyond. I would recommend Demob Job to anyone leaving the Armed Forces.  Kieran is now employed as a Field Service Engineer in West Yorkshire.
