Who are Demob Job?
Demob Job was established in 2005 by our Managing Director Adrian Cheesman after he completed a successful full career in The Royal Corps of Signals.
His vision was to build an ethical and professional recruitment business which would champion the employability of personnel who have previously served in our Armed Forces; Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force.
Since those early days we have continued to grow and now have a focused team of consultants delivering permanent recruitment services to clients all over the UK and overseas.
Our future looks bright as we continue to prosper through planned growth.
Candidate Testimonials
Clint (ex Royal Air Force Chef)
After recently completing my diploma in plumbing and heating, I had spent many months trying to find the right job opportunity. I had spent 20 years in catering within the RAF and offshore oil and gas, and have been seeking a career change, when Adrian from Demob Job contacted me about an opportunity with a respectable company which included great training and career prospects. Adrian was excellent in explaining the job role to me, identifying all my transferable skills that would make me a good fit for the role, and after putting me forward, managed to secure an interview for me. I am sure that had I applied direct to the company I would not have heard back. After completing the interview, and a small skills test, I managed to secure the role and am awaiting to start the training course. Cannot recommend Adrian and Demob Job enough. Highly professional in every stage of the process.
Supportive, Professional, Personal: My Journey from RAF to Engineer Surveyor with Demob Job
“It has been an absolute pleasure working with Kelly Chandler and Demob Job. From the very start she has been extremely helpful, consistently checking up to make sure I had everything I needed at each stage of the process. I would recommend Demob Job to anyone due to their warm and welcoming nature, I can’t thank Kelly enough for what she has done for me.” Josh served in the Royal Air Force as a Ground Support Technician and is now an Engineer Surveyor in London.
From RAF Aircraft Fitter to Maintenance Technician: How Demob Job Found My Perfect Role
“I have done what I believe most service leavers do and saved my leave to have a few months off at the end of their career. I’d been at home making the most of the summer with my wife and kids but with the end of the summer holidays in sight I started to upload my cv to various websites. Almost immediately I was bombarded with calls from pushy recruiters telling me I’d be “perfect” for whatever job they had and would I like to apply but never hearing from them again, after a few weeks I was getting fed up with this. Then Kelly Chandler from Demob Job gave me a call. We had an actual conversation about what sort of employment and employer I was looking for, discussed the skills I had developed in the RAF and we ended the call with assurance she would find something suitable for me. I got a call back from Kelly a few days later about a position available in a company that met my specification. My CV was sent off, I went for an interview and got the job! Kelly was there to support and guide me through the whole process and I’m looking forward to starting my job on Monday. I can’t recommend Demob Job highly enough!” Gary completed a full career in the Royal Air Force as an Aircraft Fitter and is now employed as a Maintenance Technician in Merseyside.
Colin (Ex Royal Navy Marine Engineer)
I saw a job advertised through Demob Job and thought ‘this is me’ and I applied. Joanne was very quickly on the case. I found her to be very friendly, helpful and very professional. She helped me through the application and interview process with advice and guidance and I was lucky enough to get the job. I am truly very grateful to Joanne and the fantastic Demob Job team and would absolutely recommend Joanne and Demob-Job. Brilliant! Thank you all, Colin. Andrew (ex Royal Marines)
I could not recommend Demob Job highly enough. I was dealing with Joanne Foster who was very helpful, friendly, and professional. She fully prepared me for my interview and was thorough throughout the whole application process, with continual updates and phone calls. Joanne provided me with sound advice for the interview and greatly aided my preparation. Thank you for all your help in finding my next career step. Andrew is now an Engineering Auditor.
Charles (ex REME Armourer)
When I first applied for my current position I wasn’t waiting long, Joanne had read my CV and contacted me within 30 minutes and was gathering information pertaining to the job advertised. This professional and friendly attitude along with continuous updates made the whole experience seamless as well as stress-free. Joanne did a wonderful job handling the details between me and my now current employer. I’ve been with a few contracting companies before and this has by far been the easiest I’ve encountered. Instrument Technician, Hertfordshire
Noel (ex REME Avionic Technician)
Just before I was made redundant I received a phone call from Emma at Demob Job having previously registered on their web site. She asked if I would be interested in applying for a Field Service Manager position. I was sceptical at first but she convinced me to make an application. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful at the interview but gained some valuable feedback which suggested that I may be more suited to a hands-on role as a Field Service Technician. This led to a further interview and, I am glad to say, a job offer. If I had not let Emma convince me to attend the initial interview I would probably never have even tried for the second position. I would have no hesitation to recommend both Emma and Demob Job to my ex-military colleagues. Field Support Technician, Dorset
