Who are Demob Job?

Demob Job was established in 2005 by our Managing Director Adrian Cheesman after he completed a successful full career in The Royal Corps of Signals.

His vision was to build an ethical and professional recruitment business which would champion the employability of personnel who have previously served in our Armed Forces; Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force.

Since those early days we have continued to grow and now have a focused team of consultants delivering permanent recruitment services to clients all over the UK and overseas.

Our future looks bright as we continue to prosper through planned growth.

Candidate Testimonials

Clint (ex Royal Air Force Chef)

After recently completing my diploma in plumbing and heating, I had spent many months trying to find the right job opportunity. I had spent 20 years in catering within the RAF and offshore oil and gas, and have been seeking a career change, when Adrian from Demob Job contacted me about an opportunity with a respectable company which included great training and career prospects.  Adrian was excellent in explaining the job role to me, identifying all my transferable skills that would make me a good fit for the role, and after putting me forward, managed to secure an interview for me.  I am sure that had I applied direct to the company I would not have heard back.  After completing the interview, and a small skills test, I managed to secure the role and am awaiting to start the training course.  Cannot recommend Adrian and Demob Job enough. Highly professional in every stage of the process.

From RAF Aircraft Fitter to Maintenance Technician: How Demob Job Found My Perfect Role

“I have done what I believe most service leavers do and saved my leave to have a few months off at the end of their career. I’d been at home making the most of the summer with my wife and kids but with the end of the summer holidays in sight I started to upload my cv to various websites. Almost immediately I was bombarded with calls from pushy recruiters telling me I’d be “perfect” for whatever job they had and would I like to apply but never hearing from them again, after a few weeks I was getting fed up with this. Then Kelly Chandler from Demob Job gave me a call. We had an actual conversation about what sort of employment and employer I was looking for, discussed the skills I had developed in the RAF and we ended the call with assurance she would find something suitable for me.  I got a call back from Kelly a few days later about a position available in a company that met my specification. My CV was sent off, I went for an interview and got the job! Kelly was there to support and guide me through the whole process and I’m looking forward to starting my job on Monday. I can’t recommend Demob Job highly enough!” Gary completed a full career in the Royal Air Force as an Aircraft Fitter and is now employed as a Maintenance Technician in Merseyside.

Dean (ex Royal Air Force Avionics Technician)

Demob Job and especially Joanne Foster were exceptional in finding me a new role. Persistently I had been turned down for a role at the final stage as I was apparently too good, only to be refused a position above this (same company different site) as I did not have experience.  Joanne consulted with the employer and explained my case which thankfully led to interviews and, I am glad to say, an offer of employment which I have accepted. I can honestly say if it were not for the hard work and dedication of Joanne and the Demob Job team, I would not have secured this new job.  I would highly recommend them to all service leavers!  Dean is now employed as an Engineering Shift Leader in Castle Donnington, Derbyshire.

The Demob Job team are friendly and always more than willing to help, their support has made the process of getting a new job a lot easier and less daunting" – Former REME Vehicle Mechanic, now an Engineer Surveyor.

Graeme (Royal Signals Project Manager)

I recently got in touch with Emma at Demob Job regarding a role I was interested in, consequently, Emma then got in touch, and we discussed the role in more detail. My CV was then sent over to the company and I was invited for an interview.  All the way through their process I was updated every step of the way by Emma and was then offered the job. I have really enjoyed working with Emma and cannot thank her enough for supporting me and keeping me updated every step of the way, it makes a huge difference. Thanks again for helping me secure my new job, I would recommend Emma and Demob Job without hesitation to anyone looking for help.  Graeme is now a Defence Customer Support Manager.

Arran (ex REME Electronics Technician)

I was contacted by Emma at Demob Job a couple of months prior to leaving the military. Within 24 hours from first talking, Emma had already arranged two interviews with potential employers within walking distance of my house. One of these interviews proved successful and I was subsequently offered the job in which I am now very happy. Emma went the extra mile to ensure my transition into civilian life was easy and hassle-free, it felt like a very personal service and she has followed up with me a couple of times now, wishing me well and ensuring everything is going ok. All in all, Demob Job and Emma will do what it takes to ensure you find the right job. Field Service Engineer, Lancashire

Matthew (ex Royal Air Force Aircraft Technician)

This is the first time I have used Demob Job and I must say I'm very impressed.  Joanne was very efficient in arranging an interview, highlighting my key skills and attributes to the employer. I successfully managed to capture the role I applied for and I look forward to my new career path. I would highly recommend Demob Job to anyone who is leaving the Armed Forces and is looking for a new and exciting role.  Matthew is now employed as a Service Engineer within the Energy Sector.
