Who are Demob Job?

Demob Job was established in 2005 by our Managing Director Adrian Cheesman after he completed a successful full career in The Royal Corps of Signals.

His vision was to build an ethical and professional recruitment business which would champion the employability of personnel who have previously served in our Armed Forces; Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force.

Since those early days we have continued to grow and now have a focused team of consultants delivering permanent recruitment services to clients all over the UK and overseas.

Our future looks bright as we continue to prosper through planned growth.

Candidate Testimonials

Sam (ex Royal Navy Engineer)

From the very first phone call Jack has been nothing but professional and helpful. He arranged an interview for me which I was successful in and has supported me in the process following. It's good to know people like Jack are out there helping ex-military find their perfect jobs. Sam is now employed as a Junior Engineer in the renewables sector.

Nathaniel (ex-Royal Engineers)

I found Demob Job to be very helpful in my transition into a civilian engineering role. After a rough pandemic, I was lacking in confidence in my skills and struggled to see where I would fit into a civilian role in my chosen field. Adrian took the time to really listen to my story and understand my goals and set about working to find a good fit. He helped me regain perspective and see what I had to offer.  I was quickly matched to a great role and was subsequently successful at interview with the company director, being offered the role the same day. The whole process was seamless and quick but also considered, relaxed, and with tailored support throughout.  I would highly recommend Demob Job to any veteran or service leaver.  Nathaniel is now a Field Service Engineer in Suffolk.

Cameron (ex-Royal Navy Leading Marine Engineering Mechanic)

“Since day one both Joanne and Demob Job have been fantastic. From the off, I was instantly put at ease and the worry and anxiety of leaving the armed forces and finding employment, quickly evaporated.  Joanne was fantastic in her role. Clearly working hard and diligently to find me the best possible job to fit my criteria. She was a fantastic listener, great motivator and was great at reassuring me following challenging interviews and tests.  Overall, I cannot recommend Demob Job enough. Their ability to find work for service leavers is brilliant and thanks to them I feel optimistic and excited for my future on civvy street.  Thank you for everything Joanne”.  Cameron is now employed as a Shift Maintenance Technician in County Durham.

Karl (ex Royal Navy Marine Engineer Submariner)

‘After 23 years in the armed forces you learn to do a lot of things, unfortunately, none of them is how to be a civvy and look for a job. I began looking for work in the field of engineering and a friend of mine recommended Demob Job, I’m glad that I did. Joanne was very quick to respond to my internet inquiry and keen to give as much information as possible on the job in hand.  When accepted for an interview Joanne made sure I was as prepared as possible with notes from other applicants and any information she thought was useful.  When she was away, she made sure another member of the team was briefed on my situation so they would be able to help.  Throughout the whole process, you could really tell Joanne was working hard on your behalf.  I secured employment and began my new career two weeks ago and I’m very grateful to Joanne and the Demob team for their efforts.’  Karl is now employed in the heavy industrial engineering sector.

Owen (ex Royal Navy electrically biased Weapons Engineer)

A great process. From the first call I received where the opportunity was introduced to the call on the Friday before I started the job Joanne was helpful, professional, and always at the end of the phone if I had any inquiries. Many thanks to Joanne Foster and Demob Job for the opportunity, I am enjoying my new employment.  Owen is now a Service Engineer in Gloucester.

Leaving the Royal Navy After 22 Years: How Demob Job Helped Me Find the Right Civilian Role

"Initially seeing a job advertised on Demob Job, I applied using the easy tool. Attach CV, write a short cover letter, and send.  My hiring person, Kelly Chandler, was in contact with me as soon as I thought possible. Explaining everything that is and is yet to come during application, interviews and just general questions. Very easy to get know and talk to, genuine person, very approachable and understanding. After the first interview, I was kept in touch with for any details in a very timely manner, just enough to know exactly where my application was at, at whatever stage. Nothing was any bother to ask and was quick to alleviate any concerns I had.  A great experience that has really helped with the daunting process of leaving the armed forces after over 22 years. Fantastic service, thank you Kelly".  Andrew served in the Royal Navy as a Weapons & Sensors Engineer and is now employed as a Service Engineer in the medical sector.

Royal Navy Marine Engineer secures new career as an Offshore Technician

“I recently left the Armed Forces and was looking for a new challenge.  After looking for a new career by myself I wasn't having much luck until I was contacted by Joanne Foster at Demob Job. She offered excellent service and helped me get a job offer that was beyond my expectations. The Demob Job was very friendly and helpful, offered advice and assistance with preparing for interviews, and made searching for a job as straightforward and stress-free as possible. I would highly recommend the services of Demob Job, and have already recommended them to others who are leaving their military careers.”  – Former Royal Navy Marine Engineer, now an Offshore Technician.
