Candidate Testimonials
Arran (ex REME Electronics Technician)
I was contacted by Emma at Demob Job a couple of months prior to leaving the military. Within 24 hours from first talking, Emma had already arranged two interviews with potential employers within walking distance of my house. One of these interviews proved successful and I was subsequently offered the job in which I am now very happy. Emma went the extra mile to ensure my transition into civilian life was easy and hassle-free, it felt like a very personal service and she has followed up with me a couple of times now, wishing me well and ensuring everything is going ok. All in all, Demob Job and Emma will do what it takes to ensure you find the right job. Field Service Engineer, Lancashire
Fleet Air Arm to Project Engineer: recruitment support from start to finish
"After serving in the Royal Navy for over 18 years, I was approaching my leaving date and growing nervous about finding a job I truly wanted in time. A few days after uploading my CV to several sites, Joanne Foster from Demob Job reached out, and I instantly felt at ease. She guided me through what the job entailed and kept in touch throughout the entire interview process. I’ve now accepted the role, and I can’t thank Joanne enough for everything she has done. I highly recommend her and Demob Job to any service leaver." – Former Fleet Air Arm member, now a Project Engineer.
Daniel (ex Royal Navy – Avionics/Electrical Engineering Supervisor)
After 6 years in the Royal Navy I wanted more stability for my home life. Joanne has been a key part of securing my next career and has been very proactive during every stage of job searching. She found my profile online and very quickly lined up several interviews that ticked my boxes. Even though I was searching for work 200 miles away from where I was based, Joanne managed to set up interviews that fitted in with my schedule. I cannot thank her and Demob Job enough for their professionalism and constant communication during my career change. 10/10! Now an Installation and Maintenance Technician in Leicestershire
Anthony (Royal Air Force Engineering Manager)
“Having uploaded my CV to various sites (LinkedIn, CV-Library etc) I started to receive calls from numerous recruitment agents. I quickly discovered many of these agents were merely utilising algorithms to match keywords with job specs. I found myself asking some if they’d actually read my CV as the roles being suggested where miles away from my skill set! Joanne at Demob job couldn’t have been further away from this in her approach. Warm and friendly from the outset with a genuine interest in my experience and intended career direction. By the end of the first call, it was evident time had been invested to match me with the role on offer. Her continued support throughout the whole interview process was most welcome and soon alleviated any unease felt towards my first interview in over 30 years. I’m pleased to say that despite my initial nerves the outcome was successful. Contact details for Demob Job should be included in all career transition workshops, they provide a service that can only be described as superb.” Anthony is now employed as an Engineering Auditor.
Daniel (ex-Royal Navy Marine Engineer)
After being tagged in the job advertisement by a colleague, Emma was very quick to get in touch with me and have a thorough conversation about my background, skills and whether or not I was an appropriate candidate for the job. Emma kept me up to date throughout the process with friendly and informative conversations including preparations for the interview and eventually explaining that my application was successful. In a time that could become very stressful as my TX date was looming, Emma and the whole Demob Job team remained very calm and helpful. I couldn't recommend them enough, thanks for all the help. Project Engineer (Mechanical), Northumberland
Jon (ex British Army Commissioned Officer)
After receiving an out of the blue email from a friend saying "this job has your name on it” I contacted Emma at Demob Job. After a few questions Emma sorted out all the paperwork, CVs, Job descriptions, introductions etc within hours; all this work led to an interview in a matter of days followed a week or so later by a second interview all culminating in me receiving a job offer. During the whole process, Emma kept in contact, giving me interview tips and helpful pointers on how best to prepare for the interviews. I was certainly made to feel valued and not just a number as with other recruitment agencies; at all stages, I received a focused and professional service. Emma was proactive in her approach calling me before and after the interview to check all was ok and obtain my feedback on how it had gone. She chased down the prospective employer to get their feedback which she duly relayed to myself. In short, the whole process, which can be nerve racking to say the least, was relatively painless and hassle-free and totally professional, even down to the responses to my stupid questions. Would I recommend Demob Job, in a heartbeat! Jon is now Head of Defence Operations within a very successful commercial company located in the North East.
Michael is a former Royal Air Force Aircraft Weapons Engineer, now a Workshop Engineer in Blackpool.
"One Friday afternoon, the 'job of the week' landed in my inbox. I called Joanne immediately to discuss the role. After a good conversation, she was confident to introduce my application to the company. Joanne then helped with my CV which needed to be civilianised to make it easier to read. The application process was very smooth and Joanne was there at each step to help, advise and encourage. There is a lot said about transferable skills and I can tell you many of the skills I had taken for granted are very much transferable into civilian roles. The online interview tips and tricks were great and I followed every bit of advice given in it. I was offered a second interview and I’m delighted to say I have been offered the position. Demob Job takes the time to listen to potential candidates, unlike so many others who just throw candidates against a wall and see what sticks! Thanks to the whole team and especially Joanne Foster" – Michael is a former Royal Air Force Aircraft Weapons Engineer, now a Workshop Engineer in Blackpool.
