Who are Demob Job?

Demob Job was established in 2005 by our Managing Director Adrian Cheesman after he completed a successful full career in The Royal Corps of Signals.

His vision was to build an ethical and professional recruitment business which would champion the employability of personnel who have previously served in our Armed Forces; Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force.

Since those early days we have continued to grow and now have a focused team of consultants delivering permanent recruitment services to clients all over the UK and overseas.

Our future looks bright as we continue to prosper through planned growth.

Candidate Testimonials

Luke (ex-Royal Signals Communications Systems Engineer)

Joanne approached me upon finding my CV online, she was very friendly and extremely enthusiastic about the role she matched to me. Joanne had a very good understanding of my skills interpenetrated from my CV and understood my background well. Throughout the whole process Joanne kept me informed of any news very promptly and I believe she liaised with the company to the highest standard. I would recommend Joanne and DEMOB JOB to any of my colleagues that may leave the forces in the future. Communications Systems Engineering Team Leader, Manchester

Craig (ex Royal Navy Logistics Specialist)

I left the Royal Navy in July 20 having served just under 7 years as a Supply Chain Logistics Specialist. DEMOB JOB approached me on the 24th July to discuss a vacancy they had available. After a few telephone conversations with DEMOB JOB regarding the position and a little bit of information about the company I was successful in being put forward for an interview with the company the following week. The next day I was again contacted by DEMOB JOB to inform me I had been successful in the interview and the company was offering me the position available. I accepted the offer and was given a start date. I would have no hesitation in recommending DEMOB JOB to any ex military personnel or current serving members who are in the process of leaving HM Armed Forces and seeking employment in civvie street.  Craig is now employed as a Defence Operations Coordinator in Tyne & Wear.

Karl (ex Royal Navy Marine Engineer Submariner)

‘After 23 years in the armed forces you learn to do a lot of things, unfortunately, none of them is how to be a civvy and look for a job. I began looking for work in the field of engineering and a friend of mine recommended Demob Job, I’m glad that I did. Joanne was very quick to respond to my internet inquiry and keen to give as much information as possible on the job in hand.  When accepted for an interview Joanne made sure I was as prepared as possible with notes from other applicants and any information she thought was useful.  When she was away, she made sure another member of the team was briefed on my situation so they would be able to help.  Throughout the whole process, you could really tell Joanne was working hard on your behalf.  I secured employment and began my new career two weeks ago and I’m very grateful to Joanne and the Demob team for their efforts.’  Karl is now employed in the heavy industrial engineering sector.

Richard (ex-Royal Air Force – Aircraft Mechanical Technician)

After uploading my CV to several job boards, I was contacted by Kim of Demob Job, to discuss what I was after in a new job and employment opportunities within the relevant sectors. She was regularly in contact throughout my job search, application and subsequent offer of employment, to provide updates, encouragement and ensure I was ready for the next stage of the process. She underwent this task in a friendly, personal and professional manner, which ensured I was relaxed and confident, in what is usually an uncertain and stressful time. The service provided by Kim and the Demob Job team is second to none and should be every ex-forces first stop when seeking employment. Mechanical Field Service Engineer, Thetford, Norfolk

Lee (Ex Royal Air Force Aircraft Ground Engineer)

"I would like to express my gratitude and thanks to Joanne Foster at Demob Job. She identified my transferable skills and found me an available position within a week. Excellent communication, checking in on my progress weekly and always available to answer questions. Extremely professional service.  I can’t recommend Demob Job highly enough for those leaving the military and transitioning to the civilian industry. Thank you again Joanne for making this process much easier".  Lee is now a Production Engineer in Devon.

From REME Vehicle Mechanic to Field Installation Technician: A Standout Recruitment Experience

“I applied for a job via the CTP portal, the response from the Demob Job was very quick and the first call was very informative regarding the role.  Joanne was very accommodating with setting up interviews and has kept me updated during the whole process.  Even a quick phone call to say they are currently waiting to hear back from the employer was always appreciated.  I can honestly say this is the best experience I have ever had with a recruiter, I have already recommended them to other service leavers and will continue to do so in the future.” James was a Level 3 Vehicle Mechanic in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and is now employed as a Field Installation Technician in Leicestershire.

Michael is a former Royal Air Force Aircraft Weapons Engineer, now a Workshop Engineer in Blackpool.

"One Friday afternoon, the 'job of the week' landed in my inbox. I called Joanne immediately to discuss the role. After a good conversation, she was confident to introduce my application to the company. Joanne then helped with my CV which needed to be civilianised to make it easier to read. The application process was very smooth and Joanne was there at each step to help, advise and encourage. There is a lot said about transferable skills and I can tell you many of the skills I had taken for granted are very much transferable into civilian roles. The online interview tips and tricks were great and I followed every bit of advice given in it. I was offered a second interview and I’m delighted to say I have been offered the position. Demob Job takes the time to listen to potential candidates, unlike so many others who just throw candidates against a wall and see what sticks! Thanks to the whole team and especially Joanne Foster" – Michael is a former Royal Air Force Aircraft Weapons Engineer, now a Workshop Engineer in Blackpool.
