Who are Demob Job?

Demob Job was established in 2005 by our Managing Director Adrian Cheesman after he completed a successful full career in The Royal Corps of Signals.

His vision was to build an ethical and professional recruitment business which would champion the employability of personnel who have previously served in our Armed Forces; Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force.

Since those early days we have continued to grow and now have a focused team of consultants delivering permanent recruitment services to clients all over the UK and overseas.

Our future looks bright as we continue to prosper through planned growth.

Candidate Testimonials

Kevin (completed a 25-year career in the Royal Artillery)

Emma, thank you for contacting me regarding a new job opportunity.  Your help, support, and guidance throughout the whole process were second to none.  You are an asset to Demob Job, and I will be recommending you and your team to friends leaving the Armed Forces.  Once again, a big thank you, and I wish you and the Demob Job team every success.  Kevin is now employed as a Warehouse Team Leader in the North East.

Alex (ex Royal Navy – Leading Air Engineering Technician)

Emma Saxton was great in finding me work after I had put my notice in with the Royal Navy.  After an uncertain time, I was beginning to worry about finding civilian employment, but this changed when I contacted Demob Job.  After speaking with Emma, I felt more confident and positive about my job search.  Emma found me a job with a leading multinational industrial engineering company with terms and conditions which far surpassed any expectation I had with leaving the Armed Forces, I was thrilled.  I would encourage anybody leaving their military career to contact Demob Job.  Alex is now a Field Service Engineer in Cumbria.

Mark (ex REME Avionics Technician)

I phoned Demob Job to enquire about a job I had seen advertised which closely matched my skill set. I was put in touch with Joanne at Demob Job who explained the vacancy in detail and discussed my background and expectations.  This lead to me being introduced to the company which resulted in an interview being arranged very quickly. The interview was a three-step process, one interview by phone, and two further interviews face to face. Joanne kept in constant touch with myself and the employer making sure that I knew what to expect and that I was fully prepared for each interview. Without Joanne`s help, support, and encouragement, it would have been extremely unlikely that I would have got the job.  Even after the job offer Demob Job still contacted me to ensure that I was completely happy.  I found everybody who I dealt with at Demob Job, especially Joanne, extremely helpful and polite. Field Service Engineer, North West

Michael is a former Royal Air Force Aircraft Weapons Engineer, now a Workshop Engineer in Blackpool.

"One Friday afternoon, the 'job of the week' landed in my inbox. I called Joanne immediately to discuss the role. After a good conversation, she was confident to introduce my application to the company. Joanne then helped with my CV which needed to be civilianised to make it easier to read. The application process was very smooth and Joanne was there at each step to help, advise and encourage. There is a lot said about transferable skills and I can tell you many of the skills I had taken for granted are very much transferable into civilian roles. The online interview tips and tricks were great and I followed every bit of advice given in it. I was offered a second interview and I’m delighted to say I have been offered the position. Demob Job takes the time to listen to potential candidates, unlike so many others who just throw candidates against a wall and see what sticks! Thanks to the whole team and especially Joanne Foster" – Michael is a former Royal Air Force Aircraft Weapons Engineer, now a Workshop Engineer in Blackpool.

Over 19 Years in the Royal Navy to Project Manager: Marc’s Career Change with Demob Job

"Absolutely fantastic service from Demob Job, and in particular Joanne, who handled my application.  The service was very professional and concise. I had regular updates during the process, and Joanne was very understanding when I wasn’t feeling well and had to reschedule my interview.  Joanne got a new interview organised on the same day, and even after getting accepted for the job, Joanne has stayed in touch to make sure my start goes smoothly.  I would thoroughly recommend Demob Job for all ex-forces personnel looking for a new job."  Marc served for over 19 years in the Royal Navy as a Marine Engineer and Weapons Engineer.  He is now employed as a Project Manager.

Simon was a Royal Air Force Avionics Engineer

“Demob Job have been outstanding. From initial contact from Kelly, right through to myself being offered the job and even after that step, Kelly has been a conduit between myself and the hiring manager. Always keeping me up to speed in the interview process and providing feedback from the interviewers. Answering any of my questions or finding the information from the hiring manager. Nothing was difficult. This whole process has been a joy!” Simon was a Royal Air Force Avionics Engineer and is now a Field Service Engineer in Wiltshire.

John (Previously served in the Royal Navy as an Engineer)

“Joanne was very helpful in finding me employment on upon transitioning from a 15-year career in the Royal Navy.  Although at the time there were limited employers advertising roles that matched my skillset, Joanne managed to find hidden roles with local companies with whom she and Demob Job have close relationships with.  Her hard work, perseverance and contacts within industry managed to secure me my ideal role.  I'd also like to add that her support and mentoring during the process, helped enable my success in securing employment, during what can be a stressful process. I would definitely recommend Joanne and Demob Job to any service leaver”.  John is now employed as a Project Engineer in the North East.
