Who are Demob Job?

Demob Job was established in 2005 by our Managing Director Adrian Cheesman after he completed a successful full career in The Royal Corps of Signals.

His vision was to build an ethical and professional recruitment business which would champion the employability of personnel who have previously served in our Armed Forces; Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force.

Since those early days we have continued to grow and now have a focused team of consultants delivering permanent recruitment services to clients all over the UK and overseas.

Our future looks bright as we continue to prosper through planned growth.

Jake (served in the Royal Navy as a Leading Hand Weapons Engineer)

“I was searching for a new role and was contacted by Kelly Chandler at Demob Job after I applied for a job advertised. She was extremely helpful throughout the whole process and made me feel reassured by something relatively new to me. After I had accepted the role, we kept in touch as she continually checked up to see how things were progressing with the company.  Kelly’s support in securing a new job made the whole situation a lot easier”.  Jake is now an Assistant Project Manager in Hampshire.

From Royal Signals to Contract Manager: How Demob Job Helped Me Break the Cycle of Rejections

“Exceptional support throughout my job application from a truly dedicated professional recruiter. After 3 months of job hunting, and over 300 unsuccessful job applications, I was approached by Joanne Foster from Demob Job. She had found a job that aligned with my experience and previous military career perfectly. From the very first conversation, Joanne took the time to understand not just my CV, but what I was actually looking for. She worked tirelessly on my behalf, keeping me updated, preparing me for interviews and ensuring I had the best possible chance of success. Her professionalism, dedication and personal approach made the whole process smooth and stress free. Thanks to Joanne’s support, I have secured a position that suits me exceptionally well and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I would recommend Joanne and Demob Job without hesitation to anyone seeking a supportive, knowledgeable and committed recruitment partner. Again, thank you for your support Joanne, I am truly grateful.” Lee served in the Royal Corps of Signals and is now employed as a Contract Manager.

Michael is a former Royal Air Force Aircraft Weapons Engineer, now a Workshop Engineer in Blackpool.

"One Friday afternoon, the 'job of the week' landed in my inbox. I called Joanne immediately to discuss the role. After a good conversation, she was confident to introduce my application to the company. Joanne then helped with my CV which needed to be civilianised to make it easier to read. The application process was very smooth and Joanne was there at each step to help, advise and encourage. There is a lot said about transferable skills and I can tell you many of the skills I had taken for granted are very much transferable into civilian roles. The online interview tips and tricks were great and I followed every bit of advice given in it. I was offered a second interview and I’m delighted to say I have been offered the position. Demob Job takes the time to listen to potential candidates, unlike so many others who just throw candidates against a wall and see what sticks! Thanks to the whole team and especially Joanne Foster" – Michael is a former Royal Air Force Aircraft Weapons Engineer, now a Workshop Engineer in Blackpool.

From Royal Navy to CHP Field Engineer: How Demob Job Helped Me Find the Right Fit

“After leaving the Navy I went home to Cornwall to seek employment which ended up being sparse in the engineering world. After a calculated move to Lancashire I was messaged by Joanne to discuss one of my applications for an engineering technician role with an energy company. Joanne kept contact with me throughout the whole four weeks to obtain my details and provide valuable information, motivation and assurance. I am happy to say that after a phone call interview and a formal on-site interview I was offered the position. Joanne has worked tirelessly providing me with the job details, company websites and ensuring I was comfortable with each step of the process.” Chris served in the Royal Navy as a Marine Engineer and is now a CHP Field Engineer in the North West.

Paul (Ex Royal Air Force Aircraft Technician)

“The team at Demob Job are not just a recruitment agency, they are also a support network to help match you with an employer, guide you through the recruitment process, and check up on your wellbeing after the whole process is completed.  These are the people to go to when you are leaving your Armed Forces career.  I cannot thank Demob Job enough for making me feel so valued, I cannot wait to start my new career”.  Paul is about to start his new job as an Engineer Surveyor in Shropshire.

Dave (Ex Royal Engineers)

“I saw a post on LinkedIn about Demob Job and then signed up to their site. I continued to monitor for updates, looking for interesting engineering roles in my area.  Once a role grabbed my attention I applied through their site and not long after received a call from Adrian Cheesman.  He talked through my experience, expectations, the employer and the realities of the role.  I have since received an offer of employment and would like to express my sincere thanks to Adrian and Joanne Foster at Demob for their help, support and guidance throughout this process.  I would highly recommend Demob Job to anyone leaving or thinking of leaving the military with an Engineering/Technical background as a route to employment!”.  Dave is now employed as a Field Service Engineer in West Yorkshire.

Rhys (ex-Royal Navy Weapons Engineer)

“These guys are a cut above the rest when compared to other recruiters - complete understanding throughout the process which isn’t reciprocal with all other recruiters. I received more support than was needed, to which I’m so grateful and ecstatic with the end result. Demob Job are a great team to work with and I would recommend to any service leaver in transition!”.  Rhys is now employed as a Field Service Engineer in the Bristol area.
