From REME soldier to Operations Director: Demob Job recruitment support

"After first seeing a job advertised for an Operations Director and, submitting an application, Demob Job has been nothing short of amazing. Joanne Foster took the time to fully understand both mine and the client’s requirements to ensure I was the right person for the job. I was kept updated at all stages of the interview process and was delighted to be offered the role. I would have no hesitation in recommending Joanne and the team at Demob Job for any ex-military engineers looking for a new opportunity." – Former Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) member, now an Operations Director in North Yorkshire.

Noel (ex REME Avionic Technician)

Just before I was made redundant I received a phone call from Emma at Demob Job having previously registered on their web site. She asked if I would be interested in applying for a Field Service Manager position. I was sceptical at first but she convinced me to make an application. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful at the interview but gained some valuable feedback which suggested that I may be more suited to a hands-on role as a Field Service Technician.  This led to a further interview and, I am glad to say, a job offer. If I had not let Emma convince me to attend the initial interview I would probably never have even tried for the second position. I would have no hesitation to recommend both Emma and Demob Job to my ex-military colleagues. Field Support Technician, Dorset

Anthony (Royal Air Force Engineering Manager)

“Having uploaded my CV to various sites (LinkedIn, CV-Library etc) I started to receive calls from numerous recruitment agents. I quickly discovered many of these agents were merely utilising algorithms to match keywords with job specs. I found myself asking some if they’d actually read my CV as the roles being suggested where miles away from my skill set!   Joanne at Demob job couldn’t have been further away from this in her approach. Warm and friendly from the outset with a genuine interest in my experience and intended career direction. By the end of the first call, it was evident time had been invested to match me with the role on offer. Her continued support throughout the whole interview process was most welcome and soon alleviated any unease felt towards my first interview in over 30 years. I’m pleased to say that despite my initial nerves the outcome was successful. Contact details for Demob Job should be included in all career transition workshops, they provide a service that can only be described as superb.” Anthony is now employed as an Engineering Auditor.

Matthew (ex REME Avionics Technician)

I applied for a Field Service Technician Role through Demob and was promptly contacted by Joanne who after ascertaining my suitability for the role arranged for me to attend an interview. I was successful and offered the job the same day which I accepted. Throughout the entire process, Joanne was always on hand to help me prepare for the interview, keeping me informed and ensuring everything ran smoothly up to my first day of work. Overall all I could not recommend Demobjob enough. Field Service Technician, Belfast

Chris (ex Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers)

Emma contacted me after I applied for a Field Service Engineer position. Within days Emma came back to me, spoke to me about the vacancy and then helped me tweak my CV specifically for the role.  Emma helped me with every step of the process happy to use several methods of contact as I was difficult to reach due to my work commitments.  She was patient and understanding.  Thanks to Emma, within 5 weeks I had started a new job. In addition, my new boss has since alluded that this was his first-time using Demob Job and he was so pleased how it had worked out. Both my new boss and I would highly recommend Demob Job to anybody who is looking for a new career after their military career.  Double thumbs-up for Demob Job! Now a Field Service Engineer in West Yorkshire

Jack (ex Royal Air Force Aircraft Technician)

“Demob Job, have been amazing in helping me secure my new career.  As a service leaver, having served many years in the Royal Air Force, joining the civilian world was daunting. But finding Demob Job was exactly what I needed, they understood my position and made everything as pain-free as possible.  I was introduced to the employer and an interview was arranged within 24 hours.  Throughout the process, Demob Job kept in touch and helped me prepare for the interview, giving me some great advice.  I was offered the job, and again, Adrian called congratulating me giving me all the information on the next steps, staying in touch right up to my first day in my new job. I would give Demob Job 10 out of 10”.  Jack is now an Engineer Surveyor in Essex.

Gemma (ex Royal Armoured Corps and Royal Corps of Signals)

Leaving the British Army during a pandemic was something I never expected to happen. I was quite concerned with the employment opportunities, however I managed to find a job I was interested in and applied to Joanne at Demob Job.  Joanne rang me the very next day to set up an interview.  The communication was second to none through the whole process, and Joanne was brilliant. Joanne gave me some brilliant advice to prep for my interview and even followed up on the day.  I am proud to say the interview was successful and I was offered the job which would start only two weeks later. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Joanne for making my transition into civilian life seamless.  Gemma is now employed as a Telecommunications Apprentice Trainer in Wiltshire.
