Field Service Engineer

Our client is a leading specialist manufacturer of high value machinery and tooling in Europe. Due to continued expansion, they now have a vacancy for a Field Service Engineer to join their team in the Midlands. The successful Field Service Engineer will ideally be based in the following locations: Derby, Dudley, Birmingham, Worcester, Gloucester, Northampton, Oxford or close surrounding areas and will travel to customer sites throughout the UK and Ireland and will carry out the installation, commissioning, repair, modification and calibration of the company’s range of machinery. Please note flexibility is required as you will travel and stay away from home, on average 2 nights per week.

This vacancy presents itself as an excellent opportunity to join an established company who offer a comprehensive training program with travel to the parent company factory in Germany as part of the training to gain a full understanding of the machine’s portfolio and process.

Field Service Engineer Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will have a strong Electrical engineering background with proven hydraulic and mechanical skills.
  • Hold a recognised Electrical Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, ONC, HNC, BTEC).
  • Experience of maintenance and fault finding on complex equipment and machinery.
  • Proven knowledge and experience of servo valves.
  • Flexible – happy to stay away from home overnight and able to commit to an initial 12-week training program in Germany.
  • Hold full clean driving licence.

Field Service Engineer Benefits:

  • Starting salary is £38,000 + O/T rising to circa £45,000 – £50,000 OTE after training.
  • Monday to Friday – 40 hour working week.
