Ex-Military Qualifications & Transferable Skills

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has for many years ensured that qualifications gained within an Armed Forces career are directly related to those of their commercial equivalent.

People leaving their Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force careers will have gained qualifications which you, as an employer, will recognise.

These range from NVQs through to Degrees.

Engineering and technical candidates will also have gained specific trade qualifications gained by attending commercial courses on specific equipment and skills along with supporting qualifications in areas such as Health & Safety, auditing, management and more.

In summary, the gaining of qualifications is encouraged from day one of a military career in order to support the transition from military uniform to commercial employment.

Transferable skills also play a big role in making the ex-military candidate an attractive prospect, a few of which are highlighted below:

  • Leadership
  • Teamwork
  • Integrity
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Strong communicators
  • Ability to perform under pressure

Since 2005 we have been providing advice and support to companies across the UK in the recruitment of ex-military personnel, directly helping them find some of the best engineering & technical talent there is in the UK.
