I’m recruiting an Electrician to join a secure and high-performing facilities management team at HMP Nottingham.
This is a role where your work has real purpose, helping maintain a safe, compliant, and operational prison environment that supports both staff and residents.
The Role
Working within a secure site, you’ll carry out a mix of planned maintenance, fault finding, and minor electrical works, ensuring all systems remain safe and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and preventative electrical maintenance
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs across electrical systems
- Complete like-for-like replacements and minor electrical works
- Conduct inspections and testing in line with BS7671 regulations
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and safe systems of work
- Support wider FM tasks, including escorting duties where required
What You Need
- City and Guilds 2367 or 2357 Level 2 in Electrical Installation, or equivalent
- 18th Edition, or 17th Edition with willingness to upskill
- Experience in maintenance and fault finding
- Good understanding of health and safety and compliance
- Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively
- Comfortable working at heights
Desirable
- Knowledge of fire alarm or CCTV systems
Package
- £29,009 to £35,015 salary, dependent on experience
- Additional 15% allowance for weekend rota, 1 in 3
- 39-hour working week

Working Hours
- Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00
- 1 in 3 weekends, rota basis with additional allowance
