Technical Project Manager

I am currently recruiting for an exciting position working for a leading Communications company based at Heathrow. Due to continued expansion my client has an immediate requirement for a Technical Project Manager to join their team at their site. The successful Technical Project Manager will be a skilled and proactive professional with a solid foundation in both project management and technical delivery. This role will primarily focus on the planning, coordination, and execution of projects across the company’s communications and technology solutions portfolio. Due to the nature of the role, the successful Technical Project Manager will be expected to travel occasionally to customer sites throughout the UK. Please note, candidates must be willing to undertake security clearance.

Technical Project Manager Responsibilities:

  • Ensure projects are delivered in line with agreed timescales, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Manage day-to-day project activities, liaise with internal and external stakeholders, and maintain oversight of technical requirements to ensure alignment with client expectations and contract obligations.
  • Establish project-specific operational procedures, managing resources and subcontractors, identifying and mitigating project risks, and ensuring compliance with internal processes and client-specific requirements.
  • Support commercial aspects of project delivery, including progress reporting, cost tracking, and coordination with business development, finance, and operations teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

Technical Project Manager Requirements:

  • You will have ideally worked within the field of radio/IT/communications.
  • Proven demonstrable experience as a Project Manager with a relevant Project Management qualification; Prince2 or PMP.
  • Have a good understanding of technical systems and the ability to engage confidently with engineering teams is essential.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to track spend.
  • Ability to understand design and technical documentation.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites and project locations when required.
  • Hold a clean driving licence.
