The importance of including contact details on your CV
Make yourself easy to contact! It seems obvious but not everyone does it.
Recently we have been receiving a large number of CVs from job-seekers, particularly from the ex-forces community, that don’t include their contact details. This makes the recruiter’s job harder and they are likely to contact someone else instead.
It is important that your CV includes BOTH your email address AND your telephone number to make it easy for recruiters to get in touch with you.
Adding your address is also essential so the recruiter can calculate where you live in regards to the vacancy. Nevertheless, we understand that jobseekers are cautious about adding their address to their CV due to identify fraud. There are ways in which you can write down your address without exactly pinpointing your location, for example:
- South Shields, Tyne and Wear, NE33 1RF
- Tyne and Wear, NE33 1RF
- South Shields, NE33 1RF
- NE33 1RF (at the very least)
Make sure to double check that all of your contact details are accurate and up-to-date.
