Are you leaving the military but still looking for regular travel? Have you got a Naval background and have experience as an Electronics Engineer? Our client is now recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to join their existing team in Maldon, Essex. The successful candidate will be responsible for travelling to customer vessels around the world to carry out service, repair and commissioning of company products.

Please note that this role will involve Worldwide Travel approximately 80% of the time therefore you must be flexible with regards to this, there are generous uplifts of 20%, 50% and 100% of basic salary so you have the opportunity to earn some very good money. Generally the trips away will consist of around 1 -2 weeks at a time, all expenses will be paid including allowances for meals and any expenses.

Field Service Engineer Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will be responsible for travelling out to customer vessels to carry out service, repair and commissioning of all the companies products in-house at customer sites worldwide.
- Assist Systems Engineers with preparation and testing of new systems and with the preparation of technical proposals.
- Assist with the development and assessment of new products.
- When office based, provide support assisting customers with technical problems via email and telephone.

Field Service Engineer Applicant Requirements:
- You must have an NVQ Level 3 / HNC or equivalent in electronics’ engineering and have experience of control and automation systems within a marine environment.
- Fault finding and diagnostic skills.
- Competent in computer technology and Ethernet networks.
- Experience with alarm systems, monitoring systems, surveillance and radar systems, propulsion control systems and damage control systems.
- Flexible with regards to travel overseas, sometimes it could be short notice.
- Hold Full UK Driving Licence.
