Introduction:
Our client is a leading provider of parking and transport management solutions across the UK and overseas. They are now recruiting for a Technical Support Engineer to join their team at their site in Bristol. The successful candidate will ensure systems are functioning, provide upgrades and help to customers and the engineering team within the company.

SALARY IS £COMPETITIVE, 25 DAYS HOLIDAY PLUS BANK HOLIDAYS, PENSION SCHEME.

Technical Support Engineer Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to engineers, customers and management on a daily basis via phone and e-mail.
- Regularly survey sites, download databases for local storage and highlight any issues encountered.
- Investigate hardware and software problems, research solutions, work with the development team and apply upgrades and patches to resolve any issues.
- Specify and configure hardware including servers, routers and networks.
- Prepare servers and equipment for new sites or local testing.
- Maintain site and equipment documentation and produce documentation and training for engineers and customers.

Technical Support Engineer Requirements:
Essential:
- You will hold a recognised qualification in an IT subject.
- Knowledge of database and SQL with the ability to write basic SQL queries.
- Proven experience of networks and router configuration with the ability to troubleshoot problems.
- Knowledge of DOS scripting.
- IT literate - MS Office (word, Excel) and Windows.
- Problem solver with good communication skills.
- Hold a valid UK licence as you will be required to travel to customer sites occasionally.
Desirable:
- Experience in a mechanical or electrical field.
