Introduction:
Our client is an established manufacturer of specialised equipment. They’re now looking for a Storesperson/Workshop Assistant to be based in North Shields.

£COMPETITIVE SALARY PAYABLE, PENSION SCHEME, TRAINING PROVIDED, 20 DAYS HOLIDAY PLUS BANK HOLIDAYS.

Storesperson/Workshop Assistant Responsibilities:
- Working in a workshop/engineering environment, assisting engineers where required including bench assembly and other workshop duties.
- Managing and recording goods inwards/outwards using bespoke software and ensure checks to verify stock levels for re-ordering are accurate and appropriate.
- Take delivery of goods delivered, ensuring goods are checked off accurately and in a timely manner
- Update computer system to enable accurate stock levels, assist with stock checks and keep stores clean and tidy.
- Have materials ready for collection by engineers or delivery companies using the IT equipment provided.
- Make deliveries to and collections from various locations when requested using company provided vehicles.
- Ensure safe loading/unloading of materials onto vehicles and assisting colleagues where necessary.

Storesperson/Workshop Assistant Requirements:
- Experience of working in a similar environment/role.
- Practical approach, multi-skilled and organised.
- IT literate: Knowledge of stock software (Training provided).
- Prepared to work out of hours as required to cover the needs of the business.
- Prepared to travel to assists other sites as required.
- Hands on knowledge with hand power tools.
- Ability to obtain SC Clearance.
- Full Driving License - Essential.
