Introduction:
Our client is a manufacturer of special engineering solutions. They now require a Customer Support Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will undertake occasional customer facing activities and hands-on equipment activities both in the factory and onsite.

Customer Support Engineer Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Director of Integrity Management you’ll support the team responding to daily engineering queries.
- Take responsibility for the execution of engineering projects to completion.
- Carry out job functions whilst meeting company Quality, Health, Safety and training procedures.
- Generate factory-based work procedures and processes related to engineering projects.
- Have a sound engineering knowledge on the specifications, standards and guidelines associated with your general daily work.
- Attain expert knowledge in all aspects of engineering related to cylinders, tubes and pressure vessels and associate regulations, legislation and directives both UK and international.
- Preparation/modification of drawings, BOM’s, calculations and analysis utilising Autodesk packages.
- Defining and driving through work packages and projects to completion.
- Mutual support with the entire team to ensure all aspects of opportunities for work are maximised.
- Visit customers/sites and provide advice, guidance and hands on work related to service provision.
- Provide effective interface and assistance to internal and external stakeholders, developing their understanding of IM functions ensuring their recognition of the importance of IM at design, installation, periodic inspection and test and for general product support instances.

Customer Support Engineer Requirements:
- Educated to HND level in Mechanical Engineering and practical experience of mechanical engineering/fitting in heavy engineering environment.
- Knowledge of high-pressure systems ideally in gas, valves/components, offshore or industrial supply, compressors, dryers, pumps and ancillaries.
- Strong CAD experience ideally Autodesk Inventor and associated packages.
- Knowledge of related thermodynamics, chemistry and hand calculations would be advantageous.
- Experience of FEA, shock and thread loading analysis.
- Conversant with pipe/cylinder interface thread and flange types along with associated connectors and devices.
- Experience of technical lead in customer facing activities.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Full clean driving licence.
