My client is a renewable energy company based in the UK. Due to continued expansion they now have a requirement for an Engineering Operations Assistant to join their team at their site in Truro. You will work closely with the Operating Projects Supervisors, Head of Operating Projects in activities relating to power generation sites. Please note on successful completion of training, there will be a shift pattern of 3 days, 6.30am – 2.30pm, 3 days 2pm – 10.30pm and 3 days off.

This presents itself as an ideal opportunity to join an established company with full training provided in all areas. Although not essential, this could be well suited for a person who has previously served in the Armed Forces i.e. British Army, Royal Navy or Royal Air Force (RAF) with a technical aptitude and strong customer service skills. Candidates with a mechanical engineering background with an understanding of generators and engines are encouraged to apply.

- Assist with the monitoring of power generation plants.
- Review technical data and liaise with customers and colleagues on site to increase generation.
- Recording of data using Excel and Word
- Answer a large volume of incoming calls, alerting supervisors to any issues onsite and make the necessary arrangements for technicians to attend site.
- Provide general assistance with Health, Safety and Environmental matters.

Applicant Requirements:
- Technical aptitude ideally with experience and understanding of generators and diesel engines.
- Effective team player with ability to work on own initiative.
- Sound communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Enthusiastic and keen with the desire to learn new skills.
- Hold a full clean driving licence.
- IT literate with the ability and willingness to learn new software.
- Background in an engineering discipline.
- Experience in a despatch or work planning area.

- £Negotiable salary depending on experience.
- Hours of work on completion of training are on a working pattern of 3 days, 6.30am – 2.30pm, 3 days 2pm – 10.30pm and 3 days off.
- Discretionary annual bonus of up to 20% of gross annual salary.
