Our client is a leading provider of manufactured solutions to a number of industries. Due to continued expansion they now have a requirement for a Mechanical Fitter to join their team at their site in Burscough. The successful candidates will carry out repairs, service and maintenance to hydraulic and pneumatic systems on our client’s products within the workshop.

This presents itself as an ideal opportunity to join an established company and, although not essential, could be well suited for a person who has previously served in the Armed Forces i.e. Army (Vehicle Mechanic), Royal Navy, or Royal Air Force / RAF with a mechanical engineering background and experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

- Stripping a variety of equipment in preparation for fitting.
- Servicing and maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic systems including filters, compressors, valves, actuators, cylinders, pumps and motors.
- Use of technical drawings to assist in disassembly and re-assembly.
- Provide accurate service documentation for record.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with company Health & Safety regulations.
- Maintain an awareness of company Quality Assurance requirements.
- Take a positive and proactive approach to the promotion of all aspects of the company.

Applicant Requirements:
- Proven mechanical engineering background with strong working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems is essential for this role.
- Strong technical background.
- Ability to interpret and read engineering schematics.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Sound communicator.
- Excellent fault finding skills.
- Enjoy problem solving.
- Able to work and remain calm under pressure.
- Experience within heavy industry would be ideal.

- £Negotiable Salary.
- Mon – Thurs: 8am – 4.45pm, Fri: 8am – 12pm.
- Overtime Available.
- 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays.
