Introduction:
Our client is an established production facility based in Grays, Essex.  Due to continued expansion our client is now looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their existing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks across the factory. You must have a multi skilled engineering background and ideally have experience of PLC’s.

This presents itself as an ideal opportunity to join an established company and, although not essential, could be well suited for a person who has previously served in HM Armed Forces i.e. Royal Navy, British Army or Royal Air Force (RAF) with strong mechanical/electrical maintenance skills ideally within a production/manufacturing environment.  Candidates with this background are encouraged to apply.


Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will be responsible for working as part of the maintenance team to provide engineering support across the factory.
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks.
- Fault finding and repair of electro-mechanical machinery.
- Ensure good house-keeping at all times, ensuring both workshop and shop floor areas are clean and tidy.
- Make suggestions to improve working practices.
- Comply with all Company policies including Health & Safety policy.
- Contribute to the Company’s continuous improvement process.
- Undertake additional tasks as requested by your Manager commensurate with the role.


Applicant Requirements:
Essential:
- Proven Mechanical/Electrical engineering background.
- Hold a relevant engineering qualification to a minimum of ONC level or equivalent.
- Ability to diagnose and repair faults on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Strong technical, analytical and communication skills.
- High levels of self-motivation, drive & commitment.
- Flexible, can do approach.
- Structured and well organised.
- Enjoy problem solving.
- Team player with the ability to work on own initiative.


Benefits:
- £35,000 - £40,000 annual salary.
- Monday to Friday day shift between 6am & 7pm. (some overtime / later working may be required)
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays.
