Introduction: 
Our client is a leading manufacturer based in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham. Due to continued expansion they are now looking for an Electrical Controls/Assembly Technician to join their existing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of the production facility as well as installation and manufacture of new assembly lines.

This presents itself as an ideal opportunity to join an established company and, although not essential, could be well suited for a person who has previously served in the Armed Forces i.e. Army, Royal Navy or Royal Air Force (RAF) and has previously worked within a similar role.


Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all engineering activities associated with the assembly factory.
- Planned preventative maintenance and reactive tasks.
- Installation and manufacture of new assembly production lines and equipment.
- Designing and building of electrical control panels.
- Design and build assembly jigs and fixtures.
- Equipment installations including robots, production lines and auto and manual assembly equipment.
- Installation of services including compressed air & electricity.


Applicant Requirements:
- The successful candidate must have a strong background within electrical engineering and hold a relevant qualification.
- Knowledge of PLC’s including programming.
- Experience of designing and building assembly jigs.
- Knowledge of fanuc robots.
- Strong electrical fault finding and investigation skills.
- Experience as a controls / PLC engineer or similar.
- Experience within a manufacturing environment.
