Introduction:
Our client based in Reading, Berkshire is a leading production facility with customers all over the UK. Due to continued expansion our client is now looking for a Production Leader to join their existing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of 26 operatives working a 2 shift pattern. It is essential for this role that you have supervisory / management experience within a fast paced environment.

This presents itself as an ideal opportunity to join an established company and, although not essential, could be well suited for a person who has previously served in the Armed Forces i.e. Army, Royal Navy or Royal Air Force (RAF), and have strong leadership / supervisory or management skills. 

Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the team in a busy high volume production facility.
- You will be responsible for dealing with a team of 26 production operatives.
- Dealing with scheduling and delegating work schedules and responsibilities.
- Sickness, Absence and Holiday Management for all production staff.
- Coach, motivate and support staff at all times encouraging team work.
- Contribute to feedback and debriefing sessions to identify common operational issues and identify opportunities to improve policies processes and procedures.
- Report statistics on an hourly basis to line manager.
- Immediately report any production issues to the management team which may affect the successful completion of delivery schedules.
- Manage and control all activities in accordance with the production plan.
- Ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) targets are achieved.
- Purchase new plant equipment in collaboration with Production / Operations Manager.

Applicant Requirements:
- The successful candidate must have a strong supervisory / leadership / management background.
- Practical knowledge of LEAN Six Sigma methodologies.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships across all levels of management and staff.
- Highly customer focused.
- Flexible and able to react quickly to the needs of he customer.
- Sound communicator.
- Self-motivated, able to work using own initiative.
- Enjoy problem solving.
- Able to work and remain calm under pressure.
- Hold full clean driving licence.

- £31,000 Annual Salary.
- 6am – 2.30pm / 2.30pm – 11pm, (rotating shift pattern).
