Introduction:
Our client are a well-established manufacturer of mobile cranes. Due to continued expansion our client is now looking for a Mobile Plant Engineer to join their existing team. The successful candidate will be based from home and responsible for travelling to customer sites to carry out maintenance, repair and upgrades to the companies’ products.

Please note that this is a Field Service role therefore you must be flexible with regards to travel and occasional overnight stays. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will live within the M6 Corridor so you must be located close to Chorley, Warrington, Stoke on Trent, Coventry, Warwick or Milton Keynes area. This will involve UK travel in your own company van so you must also hold a Full UK Driving Licence.

This presents itself as an ideal opportunity to join an established company and, although not essential, could be well suited for a person who has previously served in the Armed Forces i.e. British Army, Royal Navy or Royal Air Force (RAF) and have a proven demonstrable background as an Engineer, Technician or Mechanic, particularly those who have come from a REME background are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will be responsible for providing field based support for all the companies’ crane products in the UK.
- Responsible for providing customers with high quality after sales support, using your judgement in making the correct commercial & technical decisions.
- Updating software on the cranes and associated equipment.
- Produce fast effective maintenance service in line with product requirements.
- Upselling company products to customers.
- Travelling the UK to visit customers with occasional overnight stays – general travel time will be generally a maximum of 2 hours each way, if further commute is required then you would need to stay overnight.
- Liaising with the customers engineers’ to ensure that jobs are dealt with in the correct manner.
- Update maintenance logs and ensure any information is passed over to the relevant person on the customers’ site.
- Any other associated tasks as required by the Service Manager.

Applicant Requirements:
- The successful candidate must have a strong electro-mechanical engineering background with experience of pneumatics & hydraulics.
- Electrical Engineering background is essential for this role.
- Need to have a strong health & safety awareness.
- Must have experience with Cranes or Plant equipment.
- Sales motivated as you will be required to upsell products although this is not your primary role.
- Flexible with regards to travel and overnight stays.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong communication skills.
- Customer facing.
