Introduction:
Our client is a well-established provider of engineering solutions. They now have an immediate requirement for an Electro-Mechanical Engineer/Rewinder to join their team in East London. Reporting to the Workshop Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for the overhaul and repair of rotating equipment including AC/DC motors, pumps, gearboxes and fans.

This presents itself as an ideal opportunity to join an established company and, although not essential, could be well suited for a person who has previously served in the Armed Forces i.e. Royal Navy, Army or Royal Air Force/RAF and has previously worked with rotating equipment. The ability to rewind AC/DC motors is essential for the role.


Responsibilities:
- Carry out the service, maintenance and repair of equipment within the workshop.
- Identify mechanical and electrical faults and carry out the necessary repairs or replacement of parts.
- Rewind, re-assemble, dismantle and test AC/DC motors.
- Carry out repairs to all types of rotating equipment including electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, fans etc.
- Inspection of electro-mechanical equipment for damage.
- Ensure the timely service and repair of customers’ equipment, advising on best possible solutions to ensure that equipment is working to the best of its ability.
- Provide accurate documentation for works carried out.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with company Health & Safety regulations.
- Be flexible and prepared to work additional hours on customer request.


Applicant Requirements:
Essential:
- Must have a strong electro-mechanical engineering background.
- Ability to rewind, dismantle, re-assemble and test AC/DC motors.
- Hold a relevant engineering qualification or time served apprenticeship.
- Strong fault finding skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams.
- Ability to work on own initiative and remain calm under pressure
- Sound communicator.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Enjoy problem solving.
- Full clean driving licence in order to attend customer sites on occasion.


Benefits:
- Salary £28,000 - £30,000.
- Overtime Payable.
- Monday to Friday – 8.30am – 5pm.
