Our client is a leading solutions provider in the field of Communications. They are now looking for a Radio Engineer to join their team at their site in St Neots, Cambridgeshire. Reporting to the Service Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, service and maintenance of radio equipment both at customer sites and in the workshop. This position is primarily based at St Neots, however you will be required to travel to customer sites. There is also the requirement to stay away from home overnight, however this is occasional.

Although not essential, this may be well suited to candidates coming from an (ex-military) background i.e. Army (Royal Signals), Navy or Royal Air Force (RAF), especially those with a Systems Engineering/IT/Radio background. Please note although the position is a radio engineering role, my client is open to transferrable skills, therefore candidates coming from an IT or communications background are encouraged to apply.

- Prepare equipment for hire and sale, both Radio and Public Address.
- Configure radios coming in off hire and Carry out repairs/maintenance to any damaged hire equipment.
- Repair radios sent in for service.
- Carry out site surveys for new hire/sales projects.
- Install on site hire/sales projects.
- Carry out repairs/maintenance of onsite hire/sales equipment.
- Deal with Public Address events, carry out site surveys and install and attend Public Address events as required.
- Deal with technical enquiries from internal/external sources, both radio and Public Address.
- Attend projects to provide onsite engineering and backup.
- Construct special equipment that may be required from time to time, related to radio or Public Address, for hire or sale.
- Deliver/ collect, install/ de-install radio or Public Address equipment as required, to customers’ premises, sites, etc.
- Liaise with customers as required allowing for repairs to be actioned.
- Prepare forms for servicing, job sheets, site visit sheets, quotes, etc.
- Assist the Sales Team with planning and delivery of Demonstration systems and equipment.
- Assist the Systems Team in preparing MOTOTRBO and HYTERA products pre installation.
- Assist the Systems Team with support of currently installed systems and equipment.
- Assist the Engineering Team in general, including Site Visits to troubleshoot.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with company Health & Safety regulations.
- Maintain an awareness of company Quality Assurance requirements.
- Ensure company vehicles are kept to an appropriate level of cleanliness to promote the standard of the company when in the customer environment.
- Take a positive and proactive approach to the promotion of all aspects of the company.

Applicant Requirements:
- Proven Radio/Communications/IT background with experience of repairing, servicing, installing equipment.
- Excellent client facing skills with very strong verbal & written communication skills.
- Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
- Flexible approach – willing to travel.
- IT literate.
- Hold a full clean driving licence.

- £Negotiable Salary.
- Monday – Friday – 9am – 5.30pm.
- 20 days holiday, plus 8 statutory days.
