Sales Engineer - North East England

Our client are a well-established manufacturer of pumps delivering their products all across the UK. Due to continued expansion they are now looking to recruit 2 additional Sales Engineers’ to their existing team. The successful candidates’ will be responsible for visiting potential customers across the North East of England to sell the companies’ products. It is essential for this role that you have a proven sales engineering background and have mechanical knowledge.
This presents itself as an ideal opportunity to join an established company and, although not essential, could be well suited for a person who has previously served in the Armed Forces i.e. British Army, Royal Navy or Royal Air Force (RAF) and have a proven demonstrable background as an Engineer, Technician or Mechanic and has commercial experience within a Sales Engineering role or similar.

- The successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing after sales revenue and margin within the North East of England.
- Responsible for selling service level agreements including upgrades of pumps, valves & services to end users of rotating machinery across all industries.
- Liaising with Service Centres, Field Service Coordinators and Field Service Engineers to prioritise work and ensure job details are correct.
- Generating and qualifying leads.
- Surveying sites and developing best value solutions to customer problems.
- Establishing new, and maintaining existing relationships with customers.
- Support National Sales Manager in administration and marketing activities.
- Proposing maintenance plans and generating quotations.
- Responding to tenders.
- Negotiation of pricing, availability and technical solutions.
- Account management and development duties.
- Performing to set KPI’s.

Applicant Requirements:
- The successful candidate must have a strong sales engineering background, must be of mechanical bias.
- Knowledge of pumps, valves, compressors and rotating equipment.
- Excellent oral and written skills.
- Excellent presentation and negotiating skills.
- Highly numerate with excellent command of Microsoft office especially excel, powerpoint.
- Experience of using SAP would be of benefit.
- Demonstrate ability to plan and prioritise workload to meet required time schedules.
- Knowledge of sales and marketing of remote monitoring systems is an advantage.

- £35,000 - £40,000 basic salary.
- Car allowance plus bonus scheme.
- Monday – Friday 37 hours per week.
