Our client based in Buckingham, Buckinghamshire are a well-established manufacturer of mobile lifting equipment. They supply to a number of companies across the world including the MoD. Due to continued expansion our client is now looking for a Workshop Technician to join their existing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for working on the refurbishment of cranes for the MoD.

This presents itself as an ideal opportunity to join an established company and, although not essential, could be well suited for a person who has previously served in the Armed Forces i.e. British Army, Royal Navy or Royal Air Force (RAF) and have a proven demonstrable background as an Engineer, Technician or Mechanic.

- The successful candidate will be responsible for  the refurbishment of mobile cranes which will involve stripping down, refurbishing and commissioning.
- Detailed inspections from initial arrival in workshop writing reports and completeness of cranes as received.
- Strip crane & pack certain parts ready for shipment to specialist sub-contractors.
- Maintain a log of shipments & subsequent return of parts ensuring they are satisfactory.
- Strip & refurbish hook-block, slew ring, control valve, hoist unit & slew unit.
- Manufacture new wiring harnesses & repair electrical junction boxes and limit switches.
- Assemble each 307m crane on a test rig & conduct specific tests.
- Maintain crane log books for each individual crane.
- Provide customers with high quality after sales support.
- Produce fast effective service in line with purchase order requirements.
- Provide a high knowledge of hydraulics / electric’s and pneumatics.
- Assist with the development of companies products.

Applicant Requirements:
- The successful candidate will must have a strong mechanical engineering background with experience in hydraulics.
- Have worked within an engineering / mechanical role within a military environment.
- Ability to fault find and diagnose faults.
- Experience of stripping down and rebuilding cranes or similar equipment.
- Health & Safety understanding.
- Mobile crane knowledge.
- Technical expertise in electrical, hydraulics, mechanical and pneumatics.
- Full UK Driving licence.
- Flexible working attitude.

- £28,000 annual salary.
- Monday – Thursday 8am – 4.30pm & Friday 7.30am – 4pm.
- 25 days holiday plus 8 stats.
