Introduction:
Our client is a leading supplier of a variety of plant and material handling equipment. Our client is now looking for two Service Engineers based at their site in Oldham. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling the operation, maintenance, repair and service of mini cranes and lifting equipment.

This presents itself as an ideal opportunity to join an established company and, although not essential, could be well suited for a person who has previously served in the Armed Forces i.e Royal Navy, British Army (REME, Royal Engineers) or Royal Air Force (Ground Support) and/or has experience within HGV Vehicles / Fork Lift Trucks or Access Platforms.

Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will undertake maintenance, service and repair of mini cranes and lifting equipment including glass handling solutions, vacuum handling equipment, spider cranes.
- Provide knowledge and support in the event of plant failure.
- Diagnosis of plant/equipment defects.
- Undertake workshop-based refurbishments as and when required.
- Install new components to ensure that machinery is working as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- Report any machine issues and newly encountered problems to the relevant parties as they arise.
- Provide accurate service documentation for site visits.
- Deliver effective on-site specialist technical support to customers.
- Attend customer sites as required to repair plant / equipment defects.
- Undertake an out of hour on-call rota.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with company Health & Safety regulations.
- Maintain an awareness of company Quality Assurance requirements.
- Take a positive and proactive approach to the promotion of all aspects of the company.
- All other workshop duties as deemed necessary.

Applicant Requirements:
- The successful candidate will hold a strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering background; possessing a relevant engineering qualification is essential.
- Previous working knowledge of crane engineering would be advantageous.
- Must be able to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic diagrams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface at all levels.
- Team player.
- Strong technical background.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Excellent fault finding skills.
- Enjoy problem solving.
- Flexible approach to work - willing to travel to client’s sites when required and undertake out of hours on-call rota.
- Able to work and remain calm under pressure.
- IT Literate.
- Full valid UK driving license as you may be required to travel to client sites.

- £25,000 Per Annum.
- Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5.30pm.
