Our Client based in Northampton, provide general and specialist vehicle parts, electrical repairs and wiring services to their prestigious client base. They now have a requirement for an Auto Electrician to join their busy team at their site in Northampton. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, service and maintenance of wiring and fixtures to various vehicles.

Although not essential, this may be well suited to candidates coming from an (ex-military) background i.e. Army (REME), Navy or Royal Air Force (RAF) career. Candidates who have worked within a similar role would be of particular interest.

- Carry out the installation, servicing and repair to a variety of equipment to cars, commercial vehicles, leisure vehicles and plant.
- Fault diagnosis and repair, installation of all types of accessories including split charging systems, night-heaters, beacons, light bars, lighting, steps, camera systems, parking aids, in-car entertainments systems, inverters, etc.
- Gain an understanding of customer requirements and if applicable, offer advice on how they can achieve the best and / or most cost effective manner.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of work undertaken and parts used as well as completing a variety of test and inspection sheets.
- Occasional requirement to work at client premises (including local Coach Builders and Commercial Vehicle Fleet Operators).
- Ensure all work is carried out effectively and to specification in order to meet and exceed customer’s expectations.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with company Health & Safety regulations.
- Maintain an awareness of company Quality Assurance requirements.

Applicant Requirements:
- Proven automotive electrical skills, ideally possessing a relevant qualification.
- Good understanding of vehicle wiring systems and electronic control units.
- Ability to use electronic diagnostic equipment, read wiring diagrams and accurately diagnose and repair faults.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as use your own initiative.
- Excellent customer interfacing skills.
- Pro-active approach to resolving problems.
- Flexible approach.
- IT Literate.

- £Negotiable Salary.
- Monday to Friday – 8am – 5pm (40 hours per week).
- Overtime Available.
- Use of Company Vehicle for travel to customer sites.
- 20 days holiday rising with service to a maximum of 25 days, plus 8 statutory days.
