Senior Technical Support Engineer

Our client is a leading provider of innovative engineering solutions. Due to continued expansion they now require a Senior Technical Support Engineer to join their team at their site in Portishead, Bristol. The successful Senior Technical Support Engineer will take the lead technical responsibility and provide support to customers and ensure timely delivery of installation, commissioning, testing and repair services for company products.

Senior Technical Support Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Act as primary focal point for customer technical queries, ensuring timely response and escalation for prompt resolution to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Provide support to the Business Development team to assist in defining products and solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Support general tendering and marketing activities, as and when required.
  • Support and assist in supervision, testing and commissioning, both on-site and off-site.
  • Line management responsibility for Electrical Engineer(s), including coaching, mentoring, objective setting and appraisals.
  • Undertake engineering consultancy work (including fault finding activities) in accordance with company and client requirements.
  • Identify, initiate, lead or actively contribute to cross functional improvements to working practices and procedures to continually improve the service offering to customers.
  • Support the Product & Service Delivery Team to schedule, resource, and coordinate client/customer support activities.


Senior Technical Support Engineer Requirements:

  • Electrical engineering bias with a recognised qualification to HNC / HND or equivalent.
  • Strong electrical knowledge and familiarity with power distribution.
  • Proven electrical hands on engineering skills.
  • Leadership skills required as you will be leading a team of engineers.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with customers at all levels.
