Nightshift Maintenance Engineer

Our client based in Ashton Under Lyne, Lancashire now has an immediate requirement for a Nightshift Maintenance Engineer to join their existing team.

Nightshift Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for working as part of a team of Engineers delivering planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks across the busy food production environment.
  • You will be responsible for working on a variety of food production machinery including the building services across the factory and offices.
  • Attend breakdowns and carry out work in a timely and efficient manner to ensure minimum downtime.
  • Ensure the routine maintenance schedules from the manager are carried our as well as annual service and calibrations
  • Adhering to all health and safety regulations associated with the equipment and the site.
  • Complete maintenance logs, write reports on defects.

Nightshift Maintenance Engineer Applicant Requirements:

  • You must have a strong Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background with a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of isolating electrics and changing motors.
  • Experience in dealing with pumps, motors, gearboxes etc.
  • Flexible with regards to learning new machinery.
  • Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Nightshift Maintenance Engineer Benefits:

  • £34,000 – £39,000 annual salary.
  • 10pm – 6am Monday to Friday – occasional Sundays (paid double time).
  • 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays.
  • Company pension scheme plus healthcare and other benefits to be discussed at interview stage.

NOTE – Our client encourages applications from candidates from both commercial and ex-military backgrounds; Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force and have a strong Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background i.e Marine Engineer, Aircraft Engineer or similar.
