Field Service Engineer

Our client is a specialist manufacturer of bespoke equipment. They install, service and maintain their equipment throughout the UK. Due to continued growth and expansion, they are now recruiting for a Field Service Engineer electrical/electronic engineering bias to join their team in the South. The successful candidate will ideally live in London, Northampton, Huntingdon, Cambridge or close surrounding areas and will cover their allocated service area, please note there will also be travel throughout the UK. Candidates wishing to be considered must be flexible towards this as well as overnight stays.

SALARY IS NEGOTIABLE DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE, MONDAY TO FRIDAY 9AM – 5PM, COMPANY CAR, PENSION SCHEME, MOBILE PHONE, LAPTOP, PPE, TOOLS, EXPENSES PAID. HOLIDAYS ARE 25 DAYS + BANK HOLIDAYS RISING TO 28 DAYS WITH SERVICE.

Field Service Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Plan and carry out preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment predominantly in the South as well as across the UK when required.
  • Travel to customer sites and carry out fault diagnosis and repairs, responding to customer enquiries and providing remote support.
  • Ensure service standards and KPIs are achieved and maintained.
  • Ensure accurate service documentation and details are input in the company CRM.

Field Service Engineer Requirements:

  • You will hold ONC/HNC in Electronics & Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven electromechanical skills with experience of carrying out equipment maintenance, repairs and installations.
  • Good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Understanding of pneumatics.
  • Ability to use electronic test equipment.
  • Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Flexible approach – able to stay away from home overnight when required.
  • IT literate.
  • Hold full UK driving licence.
