Shift Maintenance Engineer

Our client is currently recruiting for a Shift Maintenance Engineer to join their existing team in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. The successful candidate will be part of the engineering team carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks across the factory.

Shift Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the engineering team with planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks across the production facility.
  • You will be responsible for working on a variety of production machinery including the building services across the factory and offices.
  • Attend breakdowns and carry out work in a timely and efficient manner to ensure minimum downtime.
  • Ensure the routine maintenance schedules from the manager are carried our as well as annual service and calibrations.
  • Adhering to all health and safety regulations associated with the equipment and the site.
  • Complete maintenance logs, write reports on defects.

Shift Maintenance Engineer Applicant Requirements:

  • You must have a strong Multi-Skilled Engineering background with a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Both mechanical and electrical engineering experience is essential however more of an electrical bias is essential.
  • Flexible with regards to learning new machinery.
  • Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Shift Maintenance Engineer Benefits:

  • £38,000 – £40,200 annual basic salary.
  • 4 on 4 off shift pattern 6-6.
  • 29 days holiday including bank holidays.
