Introduction:
Our client is a leading specialist mechanical and electrical engineering and facilities services company, with more than 100 years of experience. They provide a total life cycle of care for a facility, including the design, build and installation of mechanical and electrical systems, then the ongoing maintenance of these services and the provision of integrated facilities management.
Our client now has a requirement for a M&E Manager to be based at the Atomic Weapons Establishment sites to cover Aldermaston and Burghfield.
Responsibilities:
- To support the Line Manager in the day to day implementation of company policies, procedures, standards necessary to maintain the integrity of ongoing operational activities and provide high quality service to customers in accordance with Company Safety Procedures / Instructions
- Demonstrate leadership qualities to deliver contract requirements through effective communication, training and development.
- Ensure that the supervisors and staff members are fully competent and trained to undertake key tasks linked to service level agreements and key performance indicators.
- Maintain up to date skills data base for all staff and organise courses as appropriate to fulfill contractual commitment and employee development.
- Provide regular updates to the Senior Management team and AWE.
- Maintain day to day contact with the customer attending meetings provide minutes and notes as required.
- Undertake annual appraisal programme on all direct controlled subordinates.
- Identify and implement operational improvements to ensure continued provision of high quality service.
- Through innovation and vision identify any business opportunity and pass information to Senior Managers.
- Assist in production of regular reports using IT reporting tools and analytical data.
- Assist in other ad hoc functions within skills level, training and experience on an as-instructed basis.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and feedback through relevant and current procedures.
- In conjunction with the HSE&Q team, regularly monitor the safety performance of all service aspects, identifying areas for improvement.
Candidate Requirements:
- The ability to establish, implement and monitor high standards of excellence in areas of quality, safety and operational performance
- To hold a minimum engineering qualification of NVQ level 4 or equivalent (HNC / HND)
- Good, all round knowledge of Maintenance Management disciplines i.e. Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
- It is anticipated that the successful candidate will have at least 5 years related experience in a Supervisory environment with Engineering as a component responsibility.
- Be commercially aware and have a sound knowledge of budget preparation, negotiation and management.
- Have good people management, leadership, decision-making and communications skills. Be resilient under pressure and be able to converse confidently with staff, suppliers and customers at all level
- Smart, presentable appearance as well as being Personable and approachable
- The individual must be willing to undergo DV clearance
