Introduction:
Our client is a leading specialist mechanical and electrical engineering and facilities services company, with more than 100 years of experience. They provide a total life cycle of care for a facility, including the design, build and installation of mechanical and electrical systems, then the ongoing maintenance of these services and the provision of integrated facilities management.
Our client now has a requirement for a Communications Manager to be based from Eastleigh in Hampshire, however UK travel will be expected.
Responsibilities:
Responsible to the Divisional Director, the role of the Communications Manager is a key position within the business unit, managing projects, contracts and people across the Specialist Services business to ensure a quality service is experienced by existing and prospective customers, both internally and externally in line with company commercial requirements and ensuring that profitability of items within your control are in line with annual budgeted plan. A requirement for UK travel is expected.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing professional, efficient management through the use of clearly defined operational / management procedures and audits.
- Providing and channeling commercial / contractual management support, guidance and advice to operations staff when required.
- Providing an improved cost effective, efficient service to all customers, both internal and external.
- Providing professional management and mobilisation of projects and contracts, to the satisfaction of new and existing customers, through the use of clearly defined procedures and the co-ordination of internal company staff.
- Developing selected elements of the business, ensuring forecasted targets are reached in line with the Specialist Services 5 year business plan, whilst ensuring service delivery is maintained to the highest standard.
- Improving and maintaining excellent communications across the entirety of the projects and contracts team.
- Ensuring that only the best available staff are recruited in to the business and that the business intellect and technical skills level are maintained and improved.
- Performance will be assessed based upon the following key areas; People, Commercial / Profitability, H&S, IMS, Business Improvement, Business Risk Management, Project Operations.
Candidate Requirements:
- Appropriate industry experience in a similar management profit and loss role.
- Practical experience of Commercial issues and Contract Law (in relation to Service and Capital Contracts)
- Experience of working within the definitions of ISO 9002.
- Prior experience of mobilising new contracts.
- Experience of dealing professionally with customers and staff at senior management level.
- Experience of man management and staff motivational techniques.
- Ability to logistically manage and influence a wide geographical business base.
- Ability to source, recruit and build effective operating teams within the business.
- Significant experience in the field of Fire & Security systems, network cabling and / or facilities management.
- A practical working knowledge of all aspects of health and safety and quality legislation.
- An understanding of the definitions and demands of ISO9002, ISO2000 and ISO14001.
