Introduction:
Working for a major UK Shipbuilder, Based in Saudi Arabia, You will be a Weapons Engineer with proven Engineering / Electronics knowledge in Sonar, Radar, Electronic Warfare and Communication systems. This is a 4 year contract position which includes a Tax Free Salary, Free Food and Accommodation and many other benefits, This position is initially unaccompanied.
Although not essential it is envisaged that this position could potentially be suited by an ex Royal Navy Weapons Engineer with specific Sonar, Radar and EW Equipment experience. You will have a strong background in a warship related weapons/electronics field with progressive professional responsibility, Plus some experience will have been in a project, design or maintenance planning organisation.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable to the Division Supervisor for the day to day management of all Hunter related Weapon/Electronic post design services with a direct liaison to the Principal Engineer for support assessment.
- Conduct in depth analysis of all Hunter systems or equipment failures or deficiencies to determine cause and make recommendations for corrective action, modifications to maintenance routines or changes in operating mode. Findings to be reported in writing clearly identifying liability for warranty claims.
- Establish and maintain a close liaison with HQ Royal Saudi Naval Force Riyadh using established Royal Saudi Naval Force procedures to ensure that a flow of design engineering information on Al Jawf class vessels takes place between the Naval Base Jubail and the HQ RSNF Riyadh.
- Fully assess all proposed design changes or recommendations for modification to the Al Jawf class of Minehunter and make recommendations for implementation or not.
- Maintain a close liaison between the configuration Control Engineers in the Research Development Centre and with other professional engineers on all Mine Hunter related engineering matters.
- To comply with all Royal Saudi Naval Force directives safety procedures and Hunter Codes of Practice.
Applicant requirements:
- Degree or equivalent professional qualification, or a combination of training and working knowledge gained, for example, in the Royal Navy (RN).
- Knowledge of Royal Navy Weapons systems.
- Driving licence.
- Proven background in a warship related weapons/electronics field with progressive professional responsibility,
- Experience in a project, design or maintenance planning organisation.
