Introduction:
My client is based in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, Are a world class leading Defence and Aerospace company who are at the forefront of developing and delivering innovative and comprehensive technologies for the Emergency, Military and Government sectors worldwide. A vacancy has arisen for a Lead Services Support Engineer to join the existing service team, Reporting to the services manager, You will be responsible for carrying out day to day engineering tasks including, Fault finding, Rectification, Installation and Upgrades to a wide variety of Land, Sea and Airbourne Antenna systems, It is envisaged that the successful candidate will have proven background with the maintenance and repair of Antennas, Avionic Radar systems, Airborne Communication systems, along with a strong understanding of TETRA Radio, Digital, RF, SATcomm and Analogue technology
Responsibilities:
- Day to day you will be responsible for visiting various customer sites to carry out fault finding, breakdown repairs, Installations and upgrades on a wide variety of Electrical / Electronic Antenna, Avionic, SATcomm, Radar and Airborne communications equipment down to component level.
- Proven 'hands on' knowledge of communication modules, transceivers, printed circuit boards (PCB's), Control head units, Remote heads, Control units, flash memory cards, electrical couplings and electrical wiring.
- Ability to use Electrical / Electronic testing equipment including Multimeters and meggers.
- Provision of first line response for the diagnosis of all Antenna, Digital, RF, SATcomm, Analogue, TETRA, Radar and communication faults and issues.
Applicant Requirements:
- Recognised Electrical or Electronic Engineering qualification.
- Proven experience of 'hands on' delivery of multi dimensional communication platforms e.g. TETRA, SATcomm, Radar and airborne communication systems within a critical service / avionics / military / airborne / defence environment.
- Proven track record of delivering a highly professional service in line with customer needs.
- Ability to build effective relationships both internally and externally.
- Proven ability to liaise with third party suppliers and service providers.
- Must be comfortable with working at heights.
- Willing to undergo (SC) Security clearance.
- Valid full driving licence.
Desirable:
- Experience within the Emergency Services or Defence sector.
